My girlfriend and I spent two hours at Fleet Feet getting fitted and trying on a ton of different shoes! The staff were friendly, patient, engaging, and most importantly committed to helping us find the right pair of shoes to fit our feet! A real shoe store! Very knowledgeable staff. Went to get my daughter fit for running shoes, they took their time measuring properly, even observed her gait. Reasonable price, discount for USM students too.

Bought my first pair of good running shoes here--I wasn't entirely sure what I needed or would work best for me, but the staff here were incredibly helpful and accommodating. They have a 3D foot scan machine that measures things like your arch height, the ball of your foot, the length and width of your feet, etc. They also watch you walk or jog in order to determine if you're pronating or not. After that, they selected several pairs for me to try on. It turned out that my normal shoe size (a 9) was actually incorrect, and I needed a 7.5 or 8 in a wide. They had the stock on hand for me to try out all of the sizes that would have potentially worked, and made comfort a priority in helping me choose a shoe. I ended up liking the first pair I tried on the best, but the sales staff helped me try on several other pairs to make sure I was happy with my decision. They're also happy to let you go outside to test shoes while actually running. I would highly recommend Fleet Feet Maine Running if you need to be fitted for running shoes, or even if you know what you want already and want to buy it from a great store. The staff were incredibly helpful, the store itself was nicely laid out and easy to find, and the selection was excellent. I will be buying more running gear from this store in the future.

Great friendly service, good explanation of feet and shoes and the difference between manufacturers. If you like your feet and plan to keep them, get your athletic shoes here.
