I recently called to verify a 1pm Friday appointment. I was informed that my appointment had already passed on Tuesday at 10:15am. I explained that there was no way I made a Tuesday appointment, as I have other obligations every tuesday and that even if I did, there is no way I got the day AND time wrong. I was told they would not reschedule me until I paid a $25 no show fee. I argued that not only did I not make that appointment, but that I never recieved a phone/email/text/mail confirmation for my appointment. They refused to waive the fee so I took my business elsewhere. I would recommend a different dermatologist, but if you must be seen here, check and recheck your appointment time in advanced, because they will not do a confirmation call the day before and will jump at the chance to charge fees.

I recently went for a skin scan and was seen by Dr. Iannini. I have had basel cell skin cancer in the past. Dr. Iannini spent about 3 minutes checking me and then rushed out the door as if the room were on fire.

Dr. Smith and staff are absolutely AWESOME! So friendly and professional plus top-notch dermatological treatment...you couldn't ask for more! They are efficient but you never feel rushed and you never wait very long past your scheduled appointment time if at all! Always a great experience! We LOVE Ft. Mill Dermatology!

I went to Dr. Julie Iannini for help with moderate acne and was VERY disappointed with my experience. It is worth stating that the receptionists are absolutely lovely, accommodating on the phone and warm in person; that however cannot be said of Dr. Iannini. As anyone who has suffered from acne knows, it can be emotional and embarrassing to talk about, and one would hope that someone who has a career in skin care would be empathetic and caring - not Dr. Iannini. She rushed through our appointment, practically rolling her eyes when I got choked up talking about my acne experience, and didn't take time to properly diagnose the causes of my acne. The topical she prescribed did nothing to clear up my skin, but left me dry and cracked, with no prescribed moisturizer or face wash. She suggested Cerave from the drugstore, which I now know has been shown to clog pores. Great. On my next appointment, a week and over a dozen new pimples later, she botched a cortizone injection and left me with scars, and some of the worst cystic pimples of my life that lasted for weeks after the injection.
For anyone who is suffering with acne, I encourage you to visit Luminosity Skincare. I joined their program about a month ago and have seen an immediate turn around in my skin. Plus they are helping me with the hyperpigmentation and scarring. They are located in Raleigh but SO worth the trip. Their program is affordable, their estheticians are compassionate, and they actually took time to educate me about the causes of acne so I can get it under control for life.
Dr. Iannini is typical of the kind of doctor that makes people not want to go to the doctor. My appointments with her were a waste of time and money, both which I wish I could get back.
