Great physician. Very knowledgeable and dependable. The wait is a bit long, but she is the only dermatologist that can see you within weeks instead of months. This is important because I needed a dermatologist immediately.

This place is really a joke. I went there for an appointment at 8:45 and did not leave until 10:00. I had to tell them that I had to leave and needed to see the doctor soon. Just like the other reviews, she did not wear any gloves; which I find VERY unsanitary. She did not tell me what my issue was, just prescribed some medication. I have a follow-up appointment that I am trying to cancel and I have been on hold for now 25 minutes and NO ONE HAS answered yet. The recording speaks of the Lancaster office that has been cancelled for years, if you call the Orangeburg number it is the same recording; so why bother. The staff is so rude and unprofessional!!!! I will NOT refer anyone to this location and will NOT return. They make sure they get your payment prior to being seen!!!! They are just using insurance companies to get paid. I hate that I even have to give them one star!!!! RUN, RUN, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! Read ALL of the reviews, the ALL say the same thing. The place is disgusting as well, no upkeep of the inside!!!

After 2 hrs of waiting I was ready to walk out and I wish I had. Was told if I left they would not give my daughter an excuse for school. Should have gotten her primary to excuse it. The staff was very disorganized and rude. Office was dirty and rundown. They took a mole off my 7 yr old daughter's collar bone area and left a huge scar. She literally pinched the skin and cut it off with scissors... Leaving a large, long cut. I have had many moles and marks removed and I have never seen something like this done. She now has to see a cosmetic surgeon to have the scar redone. It is raised and you can make out each stitch bc they had to pull the skin so tight to cover the gapping hole she made. I would not trust them with my dog much less a child ever again.

I am literally embarrassed that this office is representative of a minority owned medical faculty. I have never in my life seem such an utter lack of manners, professionalism, and mere business decency. This visit was for my 11 year old daughter. They took absolutely no care or sensitivity to her all because all they could talk about was my insurance and how they were going to be paid. The office workers had poor decorum and almost no conversational etiquette whatsoever. I ended up paying $77 out of pocket for her doing absolutely NOTHING! Needless to say, I took my daughter to another dermatologist office in the city. My daughter was cared for, procedure professionally completed, and this was all done in one visit in less than an hour. McClerklin's office is a disgrace and will NEVER see me again and I'm telling everyone that will listen! Smh

I see the frustration and I get it, I'm a true believer in great customer service and time management . I had a keloid behind my ear that grew past my ear when I became pregnant. I went to several dermatologists who painfully stuck me with needles in the hopes of shrinking it. They said it could not be removed and the shots were my only option. I wouldn't receive that, so I started searching for other dermatologists when I found Patricia McClerkin. It was the summer of 1996 and I had on a yellow dress with my new baby in tow. My wait wasn't long and when she came in and looked at my ear she said "I can take this off". I said what? Now? She said "yes". Keep in mind I had on my yellow dress so I clearly wasn't expecting to hear, I can cut it off today! The previous doctors were all Caucasian men, does that matter?, maybe. This keloid, which made me feel so insecure was removed instantly. To me she was a God sent. She was very thorough, we laughed, it was all good. Fast forward 22 years. When I see a keloid, I think of her. When I clean my ears, I think of her. To hear I had to deal with that thing for life and it's gone, I'm still grateful. This in no way excuses whatever mess and unprofessionalism she has going on in her office now. I just happen to be looking for a family doc and she came up with all these bad reviews. She is no family member or friend of mine. She's a women who helped me in my yellow dress 22 years ago!
