Busy as always and getting busier as the holidays close in on us. Apparently still having problems getting supplies and miscellaneous items in because there are many, many empty shelves on a regular basis. And not always the same items on the short list. But that pretty much goes most anywhere you shop at since the pandemic. I guess I am also a little sad that stores don't do much to bring the holiday spirit to your heart anymore. They were always the first hint of the next holiday and it was always so much fun coming in and feeling the holiday spirit all around. Now it is just shopping with minimal decorations, to sell and of their own! I don't entirely blame stores for the lack of holiday spirit. People have changed the meaning of Christmas and the fun that can be had this time of year. And prices not don't do much to help that either. I can remember Fred Meyer was one of the places that used to encourage people to be in the holiday mood by the atmosphere in the stores being all cheerful and holiday music playing and people smiling at each other. Now, and they are not alone in this, it is almost all business as usual except for a very small portion of the store dedicated to the current holiday. But I will still shop and enjoy the holidays, even if it is mostly by myself. Lol Happy Holiday everyone!
I spend over $700/month here and constantly am stopped for receipt checks with two babies in my arms. All of my groceries are always bagged and it is CLEAR my hands are full. It is not my problem people steal-I do not. Teach better customer service and stop making moms lives harder.
Great place to go if you want to feel like you’re constantly under surveillance for buying face wash. No joke they have a completely separate part of the store where you have to check out for items like sunscreen, face wash, and toothpaste for theft prevention. Mind you, on the other side of the store you can feasibly steal all the organic products you want I suppose since those aren’t under lock and key. Kroger should be ashamed of themselves for this.
Despite being the size of a decent size stadium, they did not have multiple items that I needed in stock. Furthermore they have decommissioned their EV chargers. So don't bring your electric car. And they have the glitchy kind of shopping carts that lock up and cannot be pushed back to the grocery store if you take them too far to get them to where your electric car might be. And the customer service when you request help with this problem is non-existent! No help whatsoever from two separate people. And the third person just wanted to tell me how I had interrupted her work.
I've been a Fred Meyer customer my whole life. I was in this area with my girlfriend. The store is rough with all the homeless, but that isn't Fred Meyer's fault. What I didn't appreciate was the lady at the exit/entrance insisting that I show a receipt for the bag of sugar, flour, and frosting. She spoke to me like a criminal and made me walk all the way back across the store back to self checkout to grab the receipt from the garbage to show to her. Come to find out amongst the other 100 signs they have plastered on their window, they have up is a small sign about checking receipts at the exit. Maybe put those signs up at checkout too? I'm sure they deal with a lot of theft, but there has to be a middle ground between no security and "show us your papers!" I've never felt more unwelcome in any store in my entire life and will never be back.
BE CAREFUL IF YOU ARE GLUTEN-FREE!!! FM is great at labeling items GF on the shelf price tag. However, the bakery in this store of all departments doesn't understand what "gluten-free" means. The frozen bakery section that contains the gluten-free items 2 shelves clearly labeled with a special shelf tag even had 1 single GF item on it. Every other item on the specially marked shelf had wheat in it. Even the mini cheesecakes were the gluten loaded kind, but marked otherwise. BE CAREFUL IF YOU ARE GLUTEN-FREE WHEN SHOPPING HERE! Don't get comfortable or complacent believing these FM bakery employees are keeping you safe.
I should say that this place is not as awful as some critics put it. Some people could be outright rude and crude but I never saw mean workers out here. And this store is definitely neat n' clean. Although...may have some occasional bums lurking around suspiciously trying to steal goodies. I just want to point out that the quality of all various food products aren't genuinely top notch See what I mean once you download Yuka on yr smartphone!. Also, if there would be a bigger selection of boardgames I would be happy noises!
Can pay for 20+ security guards but can't hire enough grocery baggers. I guess cashier's don't bag food either, they just stand there and stare at you while you do it. Might as well have all self checkout and not have cashiers.
Received gift card purchased from this location. I had all receipts with proof it was activated. After spending 2 hours in store with management saying it would be taken care of. I basically get told you are F ed. It's between you and Master card. Steve the store manager was especially worthless would not even come out from wherever he was hiding.
Costumer service is very bad I have here more then 30 minutes and the line don’t move is only one person in the front desk I have other things to do not to waits my theme in linec
