Gabe's Inc

Gabe's is better than it used to be. Better lighting, cleaner and the terrible smell from the late nineties is gone. They host good shows. It's a small, intimate venue where people still mosh. The sound is GREAT! The sound lady works really hard and knows her biz. The urinals aren't troughs anymore; they're clean and have locking doors for the stalls. Really, it's an awesome venue that still has a great deal of charm and intimacy.

It's a very hipster place with a concert venue upstairs and a bar with games downstairs. We came for the Dessa concert and had a great time! I especially like all the doodles and sticker type of decor they have going, fits right in with the place

Cool weird scene downstairs, all right too loud for my taste. Acoustics are always p good upstairs and the ceiling lights are rad =)

If you hate the culture of places like Union and Summit, or generally bars where a bunch of drunk 20-year-olds grind on each other and drink watered down beer, then you will like Gabe's. This place attracts a crowd that is more relaxed. Not an "old man bar" by any means either. They have good drinks, a big upstairs with a stage that frequently hosts live music, and a very large outdoor area.

Love to attend this place when Local H is in town! I enjoy the grunge vibes. Most bartenders are cooler than others. If that's the only downside, then 5 stars is still acceptable!
