Paramount Theatre

I've never seen a bad show at the Paramount. They're always very well staffed with people eager to help you find your seat. The acoustics are fantastic. They have at least three places to get drinks with the pricing being what you expect for an event. A glass of wine is about $6.50 and a pop is a few bucks. There are bathrooms on the main floor as well as the basement. I've always found the basement bathroom to be the better choice as nobody seems to know it exists. Two things to consider.... 1.) It gets very warm during shows so if you take a jacket be ready to take it off or hold it all night. 2.) The seats are really close together with a shared armrest. If you're a bigger person, try to get an aisle seat or you may feel a little claustrophobic when the show starts. All in all the Paramount recruits great talent from here in Iowa as well as all over the country. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

Beautifully restored. Acoustics were excellent for Beatles Mystery Tour. My only real complaint about this theater are the restroom facilities. I don't know why more ladies restrooms were not added as the lines for women are always atrocious during intermission. The men's restroom urinals are uncomfortably close to one another, with no space between them.

This historic location is a wonderful place. And I love the calendar of events they have every year.

The seats are small and very very close together. The sound was great. Stage view was also great.

This theater put on a performance of Turnadot. I had to walk out halfway through because of the offensive steryotypes, and yellowface-esq costumes. I hope they do not continue to host shows that so harmfully stereotype. Hopefully I will see some better shows here in the future, as it is a beautiful theater and I would love to increase my rating.
