Second service at this location, but this time, I used their optometrist Dr. Dorothy Ewald. Dr. Ewald did a detailed and meticulous job, the results were good and precise. Also in the front I found Jacquie whom I’ve meet on my previous visitto be very knowledgeable and accommodating. She called me 2 days later: “your glasses are ready”!!! I found out that they do do their own glasses at this location, and they did a great job. Thank you. DK
I had the best experience here! The Dr was very friendly and thorough with my exam. The ladies at the counter were so helpful and patient while we tried several frames and lenses for the perfect pair. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and can’t wait to get my new glasses.
Wish I had read these other reviews before my visit, but sad to report that I had a similar poor experience here. Rude front area, trouble with insurance, no confirmation calls, etc. They didn't offer me the concept of premium progressive lenses first timer wearing so when I put on the new glasses and basically found them to be useless/impossible to use, the guy said that's what I get for not picking premium what premium? and when I said it wasn't offered or explained, he said "well it would have cost more." That's fine, let that be my decision, especially as these glasses are now useless. His answer was "you'll get used to turning your head to see." What?! Anyhow, now I'm calling to get my prescription to see what else I can conjour up somewhere else and the second one asks for their prescription, I get put on hold....for 30+ minutes. Guess I'll go visit in person.... STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE.
I had made an appointment for a contact lens examination at Cohen's Optical. The optometrist there had no identification and did not identify himself. He was unkempt and looked like he was loitering. He was wearing red scrubs and I actually thought he was a customer. He asked me for my previous CL prescription and proceeded to briefly examine my eyes. Instead of asking me which lens is better, he would tell me which one was clearer and he never asked me to read the chart. He gave me some trial lenses but when I came home I could not read or use the computer because my vision was more blurry with the new lenses. It was a very strange experience. He gave a very quick examination and it was not thorough at all. I will not be returning. I would not recommend this place at all.
Poor customer service. I was new to the city and first time I ever got checked up for contact lenses. Doctor was friendly, good and gave me some lenses to try but since I was allergic to them prescribed me some other lenses to try. I called Cohen's for a follow up, but the lady who answered told me the doctor had left the place and wouldn't give me follow up with another doctor without paying a fee because she said it was more than 3 months since my first appt. In fact it had been 2 and a half months only and when I reminded her so, she told me that the rule is actually 1 months since the first appt she changed the rule right there on the phone. Then I said it's not fair and she told me she would talk to her incharge and call me back, but she never did. So, this for me is simply lying to a customer/fabricating. I would recommend you to avoid this place.
Absolutely horrible and rude customer service experience with the front desk. I was extremely disappointed with the treatment I received here and tried to be extremely patient with them. My contacts took a month to come in, which is already a long time, but I was explained that the shipment time is out of their control. I was understanding of that. When it was time for them to print a receipt for me, their printer wasn’t working. Again, I was patient and waited 30 minutes for them to resolve the situation. I was then told to leave and that I would get emailed a receipt once the printer was fixed later in the day. I waited over 24 hours and received no email. I had to call the next day to request a receipt and the front desk lady did not even remember my address that I had told her yesterday which needed to be included on the itemized receipt. This proves that she never intended to email the receipt as she should have known the address to be included on it without me reminding her over the phone. I would never recommend this office to a family member or friend. Also, if ordering contacts, it will be more convenient for you to just order online at an outside company and get them in a couple days rather than wait 1 month. It was a huge mistake to give this place a chance and I will never ever be returning. I’m obviously extremely upset because I was treated horribly, especially as a Black woman. What else is new.
Front desk not welcoming. Asking why I'm visiting, telling them I have an appointment at 12, asking why the appointment is for maybe to play tennis? explaining it's for eyes vision and they are clearing not informed / not ready that I booked an appointment. Sat, wait over 20 min without being informed that the doctor was running late, no apologies, nothing. Will bring my business somewhere else.
I came today with a groupon deal for an eye exam and frames. The doctor was really nice and patient. The front desk lady one of the two women was also very nice UNTIL she realized I was not going to buy any of the brand named ones. From then on, I wasn’t offered much help in choosing the right frames, I was rushed into paying, and once I paid the lady went on chatting with her coworker about setting up a beauty appointment. She barely answered my questions about picking up the frames and proceeded to ignore me completely until I left. I wish I knew her name. I don’t ever leave reviews but this incident upset me enough to do so. I have worked in the service industry for years, and proper customer service is NOT exclusive to those who can afford big brand names. This employee is making your company look bad and should be dismissed or at least reprimanded. I have read the reviews and it seems like i am not the only person she has treated this way.
I was in the area for a summer law internship , and was in desperate need of Contact Lenses for my Prom. I had a walk in appointment and was greeted with smiles. I was able to get in with the doctor within a few minutes, he was great! The salesperson, Grace, was so patient and spent a good hour training me how to properly put in and take out the contacts. It was my first time putting them in and she had no hesitations with any of my questions. I left with a positive experience and have an appointment to follow up. Didn't even realize how comfortable these lenses could be. They had a nice variety of designer frames, I will be back to check those out as well.
I went for an eye exam and March 2020th picked out my lens never received a phone call just went in today july 2020 the person behind the dusk that was helping you checked and no idea eventually found my prescription. While the whole time to person that was hoping meets at an attitude stated that I had to pick out another frame which at that point I stated I had no time because I am on my lunch break when she replied Orwell and just walked away. That's professionalism at its best I guess you pay what you get for Maybe they should pay the more they will be nicer to their customers.
