Story

West Side Opticians has been serving the Upper West Side community and beyond since 1950.

We carry a large variety of European handmade frames in an array of colors. We offer a different selection from the average optical stores in our area and basically in the NYC area. Brands including Citipeople, Slide, Dutz, Germano Gambini, Ovvo, Oko by Oko, Zio, and many more.

We do have an Optometrist on site, Dr. Pamela Furman to perform eye examinations. She performs routine yearly eye exams and soft contact lens fittings. Her hours vary per week. You can call us during our business hours to find out her availability and set up an appointment.
She does accept insurances such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Oxford, United Healthcare and Medicare. She also accepts the following vision plans: VSP and Eyemed. We recommend you checking with your insurance to find out your coverage and to see if our doctor is in your network.
