Gila River

All these 5 star reviews, must be they actually have a river to review. I would love to have our river back and with it the trees and wildlife that once lived along the water. 'Water' being the operative word here, which there is none of in this area. I was here for quite some time before I figured out the river, folks around here referred to, was simply a dry riverbed, no water to be found, but we're ready for a flood with a $825,000 project to handle flooding conditions. Now that's what I call ridiculous and a waste of money. Almost laughable except it's not.

Hanging out on the river is always fun. Whether barbecuing, fishing or swimming, you'll enjoy it. Especially now that most of the homeless have cleared out of the riverbed.

This is a beautiful place to explore, relax, and have fun with friends/family or alone! Freeport and the community have been working to maintain it's beauty. you can take your 4 by 4 or side by side out for a great time far out! You can take a car out and find a nice close in experience to Fish or swim. I have encountered many animals here including but not limited to Deer, dogs, gila monsters and snakes and Rams, cows and horses. Whether you're going for the camping trip or just for a couple hours please make sure to be prepared and bring water and sunscreen too! You're guaranteed to have some great R&R time here if you enjoy the outdoors.

Been going all my life..native to the area.. peaceful serenity give a visit to the Gila river!!!
