Salt River

A absolutely beautiful place to enjoy the day. Has lots of activities for you to do. Has rentals there so if you are visiting AZ stop by and enjoy the lake ( make sure you go early in the morning it gets very hot)

Only major waterway in central Arizona. Vital for Phoenix water supply so it is well managed. The desert it goes through here is very dry. The Salt River has a lot of various landscapes, reservoirs, lakes and a great place for respite from the desert environment. Sailing, camping, hiking. Currently in crisis due to long-term drought conditions - but still a wonderful place in a challenging environment.

Beautiful views, clean rest area. Very scenic and fun to drive the canyons twisty corners.

I have driven past the river several times bit only up until recently have I started coming down and spending time here. Its quite beautiful river. The wild horses can be seen and heard coming down to the river. There is handicapped parking I believe but as far as regular parking goes it is slim pickins for a spot if you don't get there early enough. There is a public restrooms. During the summer months this place gets extremely crowded.

Fun place to spend the day in the sun with the family. You can swim, go tubing during the on season, kayak, etc.
