Recommend checking the schedule before going to try and see the reenactment. Trains are cool. Good facility. Interesting drives and trails, especially if you consider those who came before. With kids, recommend visit to rocket site you have to go by (coming from south.) They have many tickets and engines out front to walk around. Not sophisticated, but free and fun for kids.

It was so fun to learn about and see the trains at Promontory Point! The museum is small but has cool artifacts and information. The rangers are nice and helpful. The Junior Ranger Program was fun and they had packets for younger and older children. Nice places to picnic, but other than that not much shade.

Enjoyed a trip through history to this museum and historic site. Kids earned their junior ranger badges as we learned about human fortitude and resilience. Amazing to consider the significance of the transcontinental railroad and the things we can accomplish working hard and persevering. Kids loved seeing the tracks and trains. The engines are well-maintained and a very interesting part of American history as well.

A great place for families, even though it is a bit out of the way. Very informative and they have some great activities for the kids to do through the junior ranger program. Definitely recommend taking the drive up to see the steam engines if they are not out.

A very neat historical site. We got to see the reinactment of the driving the last spike. It is only done once a day and twice a day on Saturday. The place is 27 miles from the nearest gas station in Corinne, so make sure you have plenty of fuel. The rangers we're super helpful and friendly. They gave a wonderful presentation on building of the transcontinental railroad.
