This is the place for all your healthy and nutritional supplements, almost.
The vitamin and herbal products are a large selection to choose from, especially in this location of the Bronx.
There's also a nice protein powder option.
And it's located by an easily accessible street for transportation.
However parking is not too good, with major traffic problems. Otherwise public transportation is the way to go.

Love the affordability of this place and the offering of products that resonate with my vegan lifestyle. My only complaint is the use of plastic bags, so I make sure to bring my own. However, it would be great if they expanded their vision of health to include the earth, the reason why so many of us eat the way we do and purchase the earth conscious products. It’s just so ironic to have plastic bags. Catch my drift?

I've been disappointed since moving to the area that Good & Natural is my only local option for certain items. This store has been incompetently managed for years, and today was the last straw in terms of not spending another dollar here even if I have to go out of my way.
Some background: Everything in the store is wildly overpriced. Basic customer service is not a thing here; cashiers have no idea how to keep their lines moving, often stepping away from their registers to help customers on the floor or answer phone calls, so long lines build up and don't move. Management shrugs off complaints about the long waits and are paranoid about theft; I replied to a text message and put my phone back in my jacket pocket, and a manager accosted me, accusing me of stealing a bar of soap. When I showed him my phone and iPod in my pockets, noting that either could be mistaken for a bar of soap, instead of apologizing he replied, "I know what I saw."
Today, an elderly couple came into Good & Natural with a shopping cart; an employee told them they had to leave the cart up front and use a store cart, and the man made a comment about the store replacing their cart if it got stolen. This somehow escalated rapidly into a store employee using profanity and threatening to "break his f---ing face."
I'm glad this encounter didn't escalate into actual violence, and I'm glad my young daughter wasn't in the store with me when the Good & Natural employee started using profanity and making violent threats. After I finished paying for my stuff I told the manager that everything that just happened was incredibly poor management, and he told me the couple with the cart are thieves. To me, it's just an illustration of the complete lack of decent management and customer service at Good & Natural to see an employee use violent, profane threats against a customer. I strongly recommend against shopping here, especially with children.

If you understand the value of healthy organic food you will understand the value of this local gem. My husband and I recently moved to this neighborhood from the upper west side of Manhattan where we had a choice of organic stores. Admittedly I am somewhat of a supermarket snob, so I was relieved to find this store during our apartment search. We put up with tight isles and long lines here because we value our health. I appreciate all the work it takes to keep a small health food store fully stocked while keeping prices low. Thank you Good & Natural.
