Grand Szechuan Restaurant

One of my favorite restaurants for Asian cuisine. I grew up about 10 minutes from Grand Szechuan and went here for every birthday meal for about 5 years! I have since moved out of the state, but whenever I am home visiting, I am always sure to squeeze in a visit to Grand Szechuan. My favorite dishes are the quick fried crispy fish fillet and the chicken with smoked tofu. They also have great fresh vegetables. If they have pea tips available, definitely order them!

Find more authentic Chinese food. Even if you like American Chinese food, try Kungpao chicken, you will never go back to celery infested typical so-called Chinese restaurants. This is world class food.

Updated- service is not consistent during lunch time. The order person, serving-food person, and check-out person are different. The beef sliced noodle is not that good, since there are half of the beef tribe, not pure beef. And the waiter & waitress didn’t ask me what I need after they brought me the food. I was in need of more of napkins and some vinegar, but nobody stopped by. Tried the General Mao’s pork last time, not authentic at all, so don’t recommend that dish. From these recent experience, I’d say the Grand Szechuan has many varieties, and some good dishes, but you need to test it yourself to see what you like. Had almost all the Chinese restaurants in Twin cities, and Grand Szechuan is the best! Especially the quick fired pork intestine!!!!!! Crispy outside with juicy inside!!! It’s amazing taste! Also recommend Cumin pork ribs! Do not recommend KungPao chicken, which has no peanuts and some other necessary ingredients.

Love this place! Go there with my dad every month. Their Egg Drop Soup is to die for. Service could be a tiny bit better because some of the time we feel they are rushed but still 5 stars nonetheless!

The food is quite inconsistent - ranges from great to poor. The service (at lunch) is nonexistent. They brought the wrong meal. Replaced it, was luke warm. I would have liked them to warm the soup - but nobody home. Dirty dishes on tables. Gal who finally came to bus the tables - throws the silverware and dishes into a large tub. What a racket. Believe it or not - nobody ever spoke to me - what hospitality. This place was much better years ago.
