The Greyhound Bus, offers good service, especially in terms of "timely departures and arrivals". The ride from Hillside Avenue, Jamaica, Queens; to Port Authority downtown Manhattan, is, to my mind, the best segment of its offering, in that it's non-stop, and takes the customer directly to it's centrally located, connecting services. That aside, the customer is saved the journey by subway, which is frequently time consuming. Another big advantage, offered by Greyhound, is the luxury of being spared the unnecessary exposure to the elements, while waiting at the Port Authority; be it Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter. The restaurant and bathroom facilities and the overall comfort of the waiting areas together with the bevy of helpful staff are also very positive offerings. That said, an early "upgrade" of the existing Open Roadside Hillside Avenue Bus Stop in Queens, that offers protection from the elements, would be an extremely welcome gesture!

Some issues with drivers. Buses on quite a few routes delayed 3 - 5 hours.

I was 1 hour early and the bus was 1 hour late. I missed the bus because I had to go to the restroom and I saw it leaving me behind.😠

There is no waiting area. Ticket counter is behind Dunkin and donut. You get to eat, perhaps sit and enjoy the WiFi.

The service here isn't bad, the lady who worked the counter when I came was pretty nice. It's really irritating that there's no waiting area. So your only option is to grab a seat at the nearby bus stop.
