Gritty McDuff's Portland Brew Pub

Good beer and food. Stopped in for a drink during our trip to Portland. Tried the summer ale and the Stout. The Summer Ale was OK but I really enjoyed the stout. Nachos were huge, almost too much to share. The "Brewtique" next door is a great place to grab some beer to take home with you. Thanks to the bartender for opening it back up so we wouldn't have to lug the case around town while we were shopping.

This place has a really fun vibe and the bar tender was incredibly friendly and helpful, however, every single beer they have is super bitter. The bar tender told me it's probably because they use ring worm yeast. It is definitely an acquired taste and not for everyone. Ask for a sample before getting a whole cup.

They make their own beer. It's pretty tasty. Always a good time. It's never crazy, but always energetic. It's a good place to go for a fun drink. It's good for small and large groups.

The food was really good and reasonably priced. The beers were good and great atmosphere. The band was setting up as we were leaving.

A sports bar upstairs & brewery downstairs. Numerous beer choices. Pleasant and attentive waitstaff. The place looks very authentic. They serve finger food and plates to share ....simple things are always good!
