Stopped in to pick up some lunch. Got the pork ribs. Not bad for regular cooked ribs, the sauce was sweet and had a great taste to it. Also got baked beans which slightly smokey, good overall. Also got greens which had some bacon in them, need some salt or something, as they were bland. Also had Mac n cheese which had a ton of cheese but was very oily and needed seasoned. Final thing was a strawberry milkshake which was very tasty.

I have been in the mood for soul food for weeks, someone told me about this place and it was amazing and very nicely priced. I got a rib dinner, which comes with three sides and dinner rolls. The food was fantastic, and hot and fresh. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They even carried my food out to the car for me. I also got a milkshake, which was rich and creamy. On my way out they told me to stop by again, and I definitely will.

I've heard nothing but good things about this place. Finally decided to try it last night and I definitely enjoyed it! The pork ribs were tender and delicious. Mac and cheese was cheesy. Greens were seasoned well and fries were perfectly fresh. The people were sooo nice! Very family friendly. Can't wait to get a hankering for barbecue so that I can go back!

The food was good but the prices are GREAT. My wife and I both ate for a total of $14. I ordered barbecued chicken quarters and my wife ordered a fish dinner. It wasn't the best taste but it was good and the low prices make up for the quality. Service was excellent. I will return.

NOT SMOKED OR GRILLED MEAT BEING SERVED HERE, IT IS OVEN BAKED...AT LEAST WHEN I WENT TODAY. I was very disappointed with my meal. I ordered ribs and chicken because I wanted to sample each based on the reviews. Either folks who have eaten here have never had properly prepared barbecue or their taste buds have been compromised. When I entered, I noticed I didn't smell the "smoke" that usually engulfs my nose when entering a barbecue joint. Once I got home with my food it was clear why I didn't smell smoke. BOTH THE RIBS AND CHICKEN WERE CLEARLY BAKED IN THE OVEN. I always order without sauce because well grilled or smoked meat does not require it. This was a huge disappointment. I would never go to a barbecue restaurant to get something baked in the oven. Tragic.

I love this place, the food is so good and the prices are even better. The meals are very filling. Only downside is its closed Sunday and monday which always seems to be the day that I'm craving this place. But it's still a really great place. I dig the homegrown vibe. Definitely recommend.

Great food! The pork ribs slap!

I had passed this place many times on my way to work on a local property. If you love BBQ this place knows how to do it right. I got the Fried Shrimp dinner with Greens and Mac&Cheese. It was all very good.

If you want some good ribs, and down home barbecue, as well as other foods, this is the place in south Columbus. They've been around a long time and that is a testament to good food, made the right way by Mr. Johnson and his staff.. You won't be sorry you stopped in. It's the little place with BIG TASTE, so pack up your appetite and head out to Johnson Bar-B-Q!!!

Iam so disappointed in This restaurant . I usually get bbq but today I tried catfish and chicken. Never again will I order it it was terrible. Then they cooked the chicken in fish grease smfh. I will stick to the bbq it's not too bad. Yall know you can not cook chicken and seafood in the same grease. My babies couldn't even eat it because they allergic to seafood I had to go get them food elsewhere. You guys dead wrong for that. I dont even write reviews but i had to let the public and H Johnson know about this one very disappointing. I spent 16.98 on my food from here and I swear I wish I would have kept my coins.
