Hackett's Cajun Kitchen

First time at Hackett's today. Line was out the door at 11:00am. Only stood in line for about 15 minutes. Counter service is quick, food is just what you'd have if you went home to visit momma. This is more take it and go, but if you want to stay to eat they do have 6 tables to choose from. Everything is served in to go boxes, simply because they give you enough for lunch and dinner. $10.80. Can't wait to go back to try something new. Almost forgot... If you like cracklins they have the best I've ever tried. Instead of hunks of meat they strip it like bacon.

This place is usually packed with locals so you know it's good. The steak and gravy plate lunch is the only one I buy. I ate it once and was hooked! It's always consistently great. The boudin is good too. Get there between 10 and 11 because the line will be out the door.

Always busy and there's a reason for that. Lunch plate was good like it always is but we had some crunchy rice but of course we did go eat lunch at 1 p.m.

Excellent plate lunches Cajun cooking just like mom makes! One of the best plate lunches you're going to get in Lake Charles!
