High Plains Veterinary Hospital

With our previous dog, we used another vet recommended by family. At first it was good, but over the years, service went downhill and costs increased. We began to feel like we were being given the runaround simply to make the clinic more money. After saying goodbye to that dog earlier this year and adopting a new dog, we were on the lookout for a new veterinary clinic, so we asked around for friend recommendations. Enter High Plains Veterinary. Out of all of the recommendations, this one received the most votes from our friends, so we scheduled our appointment and took our new dog to see them. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with smiles and pleasant attitudes. The front desk associates were kind and thorough for their part of the appointment, and our wait time was minimal before we saw the vet/doctor. She too was fantastic and explained everything about our mixed breed, sharing precautions to take, recommended care, and possible markers to place on our watch list. She was great with our dog and even managed to get her to eat a treat, which is a struggle sometimes for us unless it's a specific brand. All the way to the checkout and scheduling a follow-up for a booster shot, we felt valued, and everyone remembered my name as well as my dog's. Since then, we have been kept informed of needs and notified of all things to keep in mind for future care. Overall, I am quite impressed with the professionalism, courtesy, and outstanding care for our dog thus far. We look forward to a long relationship with this clinic/hospital.

We used to live off of marksheffel and constitution which is super close to high plains. We bought a house on the south end of town and we still make the trek up to the same vet. You guys are the best we’ve ever taken our pets to! The staff are always so friendly and know us by name. It’s apparent that everyone there loves animals and wants to be there. We recently had some issues with one of our dogs and they were so caring and did a good job dealing with not only us and our human emotions but taking great care of our pup. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy vet to take their fur babies to.

Nothing means more than my dogs and when they are sick I need service. I tried them out because my regular vet is across town. They got me in within two hours on a Monday morning. Five minute wait time and by the next day my best friend is already showing improvements. This is my new vet. A sincere thank you to all the staff!

We went to High Plans Veterinary Hospital a month back we knew are dog was not in good health and we wanted to just get reassurance that he needed to be put down. We went in the dr we saw was very honest with us and told us it was completely up to us and that whatever he has going on was very rapid and it need rapid medication and or treatment, at that point I asked her if rolls were reversed what would she do. She told me I would not make him suffer anymore. I like the fact that they did not mislead us into testing and stuff that could not make him better all for money. I liked the care and support they showed for us in that difficult time for our family. Highly recommend them!!

This place is wonderful. I had Charlie, my service dog, clean teeth and they took care of her the best the could and I called three times to check up on her. Yes, she is my BFF and I was worried, but the best part of it, is that they seem to understand my worries and were very pleasant to work with me. I will not change this place for anything in the world. Unless I move out of COS. Thank you High Plains for your devotion to your furry pets.
