His Place Eatery - Chicken & Waffles, Ribs and Soul Food

My Chops were golden brown, crispy and juuuuuuuicy! My Sister got a Grilled chicken Salad. You know how Chicken on Lettuce is, kinda blah? My Sister cut me a piece of the Grilled chicken and I couldn't believe the Seasoned, juicy, grilled flavored goodness...honestly! My Mom had Smothered Chicken and it smelled good. She wasn't trying to cut anyone a piece of it, though! She didn't really want to encourage us by complimenting her Meal until she was finished. She loved it!

Gave this establishment a try and I'm glad that I did! I ordered Chicken & Dumplings, Mac & Cheese, and Cabbage. I sent the Mac & Cheese back because it wasn't what I expected - not nasty just not how I personally like mine; Sweet Potatoes were my replacement and they were fine. The cabbage, Oh Sweet Jesus!!! THE CABBAGE IS AMAZING it was so flavorful and I would go just for a serving of that alone! The Chicken & Dumplings were good as well. It was a diverse crowd dining in. The establishment was clean and well put together. I live far from here but I work a little closer and I see cabbage being my staple in this place 😃. A definite must try!

If you're the kind of person who is a restaurant hound looking for a place with amazing food and is off the radar of most people, looking for that hidden gem or hole in the wall with crazy good eats, then look no further. It was so good I decided to post my first review. This might be one the best places to eat in Indianapolis. Having been a long time resident, I was amazed to find out this restaurant has been open since 2009 and I just found out about it 9 years later, after I had moved. The smoked meatloaf is the best meatloaf in the city, the fried chicken and waffles, the sides... Just amazingly good. The bourbon creamed corn is one of the best corn dishes I have ever had. The service was excellent as well, and I can't wait to come back for more.

It was my 1st time time at His Place Eatery. It was a great choice. Everything was so delicious. Even the very sweet tea was on point. I had all my favorite comfort foods. It reminded me of my mother's cooking. So delicious. Everyone was so friendly. I will highly recommend them.

Feels a family gathering together that's way the employees there. Very courteous professional friendly and caring. The owner James comes out to meet and greet, checking everyone and things for the customers. The food is outstanding likes good down home cooking just the way you like it.
