This is not a bad campsite but there are definitely issues that keep me from scoring it higher. On the good side there are some great sites - with both electric and water - right on the shoreline. The site is very well maintained, the facilities clean, the roads in good shape. On the flip side, some of the sites are a real challenge for folks with a rig of longer length. There are a number of sites that you have to negotiate some pretty narrow confines and turns to get parked. The thing I disliked most was the fact that many of the campsites were set up backwards. You could only park one way (drop-offs at the end of many sites prevented pull-through) and once parked, the picnic table and fire ring was on the side opposite your door and awning. Plus, the layout of some of the sites necessitated the use of extension cords and multiple hoses to reach the utility hookups. Overall, not an awful place - or experience - just not in my top 10 places to camp for an extended time

The site was well maintained and the staff at the very front of the entrance was kind to us as we left to checkout. There are a very small number of bathrooms and showers. Almost any time we went to them (at night or during the day) there was at least a couple people in a line for the facilities. We are low maintenance so I don't consider myself an expert. Where it fell extremely short for us was one member of the staff. He came on a scooter to check our campsite card. I had made my reservation and paid for it online. We had a flat tire and had to come to our campsite well after hours and then leave for a float trip early in the morning. I had called the office for the campsite and informed them we would be late, the lady said no worries and it was fine, she did not tell me I had to call again at any other time. The man who rode up to our campsite told us it was not ok for us to be in this spot without checking in at the front. I tried to explain we had come in late and couldn't check in, but that I had called ahead of time. He cut me off and wouldn't let me answer. I then tried to give him my online reservation sheet so he could check us in and he said "ma'am let me stop you there, you shouldn't be here without calling us first." I tried to inform him that I did call in. He again cut me off and said "no one should be pointing fingers, you just need to do the right thing next time." I couldn't tell if he was being rude because he was racist (my husband and brother are Hispanic) but he was so rude it kind of ruined the rest of my afternoon. I already had a very stressful trip and it just really left a sour taste in my mouth. I was so disappointed I don't think I will be returning. I did not feel after that that my family or I were welcomed and I just wanted to leave as soon as possible. If I was in the wrong, I'm just surprised no one had informed me of their policies before I booked a site or when I had called on the phone the day before. Do not book this place unless you plan to move your schedule completely around them or plan to have absolutely no delays or flats tires!

We love this place. The spots along the water are incredible. It has boat ramps, swim beaches, playgrounds, and alot of deer. You're far enough out of town that you can see the milky way at night, but it's an easy drive back to civilization. I particularly like sites 136, 138, 154, and 109.
