Hunter-Gatherer Brewery & Alehouse

My number 2 in downtown Columbia Hunter-Gather is one of my favorites! I have not had an off meal. The chef specials are the way to go. Well worth the price and the price is only $$. The Lamb Duo was unbelievably great food! I travel a lot and never eat a chains but often return to great places to eat, and Hunter-Gatherer is one of my favorites.

Beer is good if you like bitter stuff that isn't floral/ hoppy. We have been there a couple times and have enjoyed the food on the past except for tonight -- my black bean burger was very bland and my wife's Mac and cheese consisted of crunchy, dry macaroni. The other members in our party of five seemed to enjoy their food.

I came here with one of my hospitality classes and LOVED it. The owner was hysterical and made his presentation educational and very enjoyable. I am not a huge beer drinker, but his brews were great! I highly recommend this place for beer lovers. He knows his stuff. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself was enough to make me want to come back. It has a classic rustic feel with cute hanging lights and brick walls. I will be coming back to experience the food next time!

Love the atmosphere. Beer can be hit or miss at times... to be expected with small batches. Food always good.

GREAT SERVICE. EXCELLENT, HIGH QUALITY BREWS. Good food. Our server was fantastic. She was attentive, very friendly & well versed on the menu. When we were unsure of which beers to order, she described in detail the tastes & flavors of each brew. LOVE the atmosphere. Although renovated, they kept the character of the older building with exposed brick & wooden beams which makes for a very charming restaurant. Overall wonderful dining experience.
