IMAXShift

This was the first exercise class like this I've ever taken. Overall, I enjoyed it. It was certainly a fantastic workout. The screen was kind of fun, and definitely made the time go by quickly and the workout seem more fun and interesting. The instructor got a little new-agey for me, shouting things like, "Let's make a memory here this morning" and dropping a lot of gratuitous profanity awkwardly into his instructions and musings. Still, it was comfortable and I would definitely do it again if it weren't so pricey...but then I'm not sure how it compares to the cost of other classes like this. The facility was beautiful and spotless. Locker room was a bit crowded, but everything else was great.

I'm always willing to give new fitness boutiques a shot, and IMAXShift is worth a try. If you enjoy spin, I'm not quite sure how this will compare for you. It wants to hit the "experience" factor that competitors like SoulCycle talk so much about, but it also uses meters like Flywheel (the readouts show you your speed and power, etc.). I couldn't help feeling that because of this middle area, IMAXShift couldn't fully deliver on either end. In most spin classes, you can lose yourself in the music and follow your instructor. Or you can focus fully on your own output. The main feature — the giant screen — seems to distract from both. The music didn't feel loud enough, but maybe it was just because I was distracted by the visuals. I wanted to get energy from my instructor, but kept dashing between her and the screen (instructors are off to the side here, so they don't block the screen). Another quirky thing about the screen — there's this funny feeling as if you're in an episode of Black Mirror. Overall, IMAXShift does a great job in terms of service, presentation, and cleanliness. The employees I interacted with were friendly and the facilities feel new and spacious. It's just that the differentiator (the screen) isn't enough to get me out here as a regular member.

I have always been terrified of spin classes, because they can be strenuous, however this is the best work out I've ever had. The experience is impossible to describe, I never felt so concentrated and energized, the screens make the total difference, you won't even feel that you're working out. The instructors are phenomenal, the staff is super helpful and facility/locker rooms are very nice and clean. Would definitely come back more often if it was a bit more affordable, but it's definitely something that I'll keep coming back to :)

A great way to mix up your workout routine and introduce some entertainment to exercise. Fun instructors, modern facilities, welcoming and good workout. If you like to spin then you should definitely try this.

The space is awesome, clean, friendly and welcoming staff, but the class itself wasn't for me. Although the bikes were technically enabled, there wasn't much usage of the numbers in order to measure performance. Also, the videos made me feel a bit dizzy.
