I’ve previously had good service when I rented bikes here. I don’t think the beach cruiser bikes you can rent from the resort are very comfortable, so I searched for a new place to rent from when I visit every year. This year was totally different. They wouldn’t deliver or pick up just one bike anymore even though I offered to pay a delivery fee. I rented and paid for a sporty hybrid bike like they show online and they tried to give me a crappy bike they said was a hybrid, but looked just like a beach cruiser. I refused to take it do I had to sit and wait to for the correct bike. Staff is grumpy & rude. No explanation of anything while I’m waiting for the correct bike. Just do yourself a favor and search for another place to rent a bike.

We’ve been getting bikes and surf boards from Island Bike and Surf for over 20 years.. Bikes have always been waiting for us when we arrived.. always in good condition. When an adjustment was needed to tighten a chain (one time in 20 years), one phone call and it was quickly corrected. When we added bikes to our order (after arriving), decided to add boogie boards or a baby seat, or requested a change to the size bike we asked for.. the response was quick and never slowed us down.. Fair price, reliable, flexible and easy... we’ve never been disappointed.

They are the most reliable place around. always willing to fix anything that goes wrong and they deliver promptly. We have never had a problem.

Just confirmed another Kiawah family vacation.. next call was to Island Bike and Surf to rent bicycles. we've been getting our bikes and water toys from them for years and would not rent from anyone else...!

Island Bike & Surf is as friendly as a company as any could be. I have used them multiple times in many years and I have always been as pleased as I could be with their service and professionalism. I would highly recommend them.
