Jamaica Sunrise

This place has always had good food. I was always willing to wait, that's never been an issue. Good food takes time, I get it. Recently though, when my friends and I go to order (3 meals at most), we hear the cook talking in the back about how we should have called ahead. He talks about it for 3 or 4 minutes while we sit in the car and listen. Today, we tried to call several times and got no answer, so we got there and ordered. We only wanted fries. But we sat and listened for 3 minutes while he complained about us not calling ahead. For fries. We knew we'd be waiting and we were fine with it, but he sure wasn't. Sounds to me like someone who doesn't want my business anymore. This will be the last time I give it to him.

Just pulled up to the window and ordered pulled pork sandwich meal, 1/2 pound pulled pork, cabbage, baked beans, and Mac and Cheese. Heard a voice in the back cussing and yelling that we should have called in the order. The not too bright hipster running the window looks at me like he can’t hear this moron yelling in the back. He says to wait a minute and 10 minutes later comes back and tells me they are out of pork bar bq——at a BBQ joint. I told hipster dude that I heard the guy in the back and he says “ that’s Rocky.” I showed him my cash and told him to let Rocky know that he wouldn’t be getting any more of this from me! As a local businessman I always try to support local businesses as much as I can, and I have spent thousands with these people over the years. After listening to this person’s rude and rough response to my order OFF THE MENU NAILED ON YOUR WALL with my kids and wife in the car my message to Rocky is this: (edited for content)! Good luck buddy!

I have had authentic Jamaican food in many places, but this place is different. Better. So good. I spent 7 months in Jamaica and had such good food. If you can't go to the beautiful island of Jamaica for the wonderful food, go to Jamaica Sunrise. Good simple food, fare prices, and the owners are cool as hell. Plus, Bob Marley is painted on the side of the building. Any questions? 🌞

Order before you get there. You'll not have to wait. They have a tiny kitchen and move on island time. But the food is AMAZING.

Very good food. Disappointing at times, when certain menu items are not available. Authentic jerk, macaroni and cheese- excellent, cabbage-awesome. Hopefully they'll open another location.
