HONESTLY and REALLLY, this has got to be the best and unique rice roll that I have ever tasted in my life...no kidding, no joke and no OTT. The rice roll are made to order, so you have to wait between 10 to 30 minutes depending on the time of the day. Arrived just before the lunch hour rush and waited around 15 minutes and the staff/cashier guy or maybe is the boss himself will tell you. Ordered the shrimp rice roll, add an egg at extra $1 and you also get to choose 3 types of fresh vegetables. I went for the beansprouts, cilantro and scallions. My recommended way to eat it. First, before pouring the sauce and chili oil, do try it plain first as you can absolutely taste the freshness of everything from the rice roll, egg and to the vegetables. It was so fresh, so healthy. Next, pour the sauce but again go with very little first and add more if you want as you still want to keep the 'freshness' of the roll with every bite. Drizzle a little chili oil as well to get some 'tang'. They have another outlet at Chinatown, Manhattan and the prices there are slightly higher. I truly recommend visiting the Queens branch for a more authentic experience and also the chance to experience Chinatown in Flushing, Queens. Please enjoy, like I did.
Their rice roll skin was pretty good it was really soft. I tried Joe Signature which had corn and sausage which wasn’t to my taste. I would recommend trying regular rice roll and not mix with sausage/corn. I was impressed by the Jiang Bin, it was pretty good.
You have to come here if you are in Flushing. These rice rolls are out of this world. Super delicate and soft, and tons of flavor. You can even add vinegar, chili, oil, and soy sauce, which I highly recommend all three. It is really cool watching them cook these on the sheets and cracking eggs and other ingredients onto it. From start to finish, this is an experience with incredible food.
Ordered the Joe’s signature rice roll which is lovely and tasty. A multitude of signature ingredients and freshly steamed from a rice flour mixture right in front of you. Immediately plopped on a plate and in to your mouth. A light savory soy sauce enhancing the flavor. Great pricing and a delicious filling meal.
Went back there to eat twice in a week. It’s been a while but still very good. A bang for buck with lots of toppings like cilantro, bean sprouts, lettuce, sausages, egg and even corn! Highly recommended. Service is pretty fast too!
STEAMED RICE ROLLS AT JOE'S RICE ROLLS @steamriceroll FLUSHING NYC I love going to place where they serve food I certainly cannot make at home. Joe's steam rice rolls is one of those spots Fresh rice fills the steamy air with a constant clanging of silver trays, china plates, and plastic cutters chomping down on the rolls Every roll is freshly made as shown in the video, with a choice of beef, pork, bbq pork, shrimp, dried shrimp, or fish ball to choose from. From there you can add 3 types of veggies like cilantro, spring onion, lettuce, and bean sprouts. We also added an egg , something unexpected but so so tasty We always got two to share amongst us 3, this time we tried the BBQ pork and dried shrimp. Another time we got fresh shrimp. All of them were incredible with a smooth crepe, fresh sesame on top, as bite after bite of meat & crunchiness of veggies. The dried shrimp rice roll comes with the peanut &sweet sauce as well So so good, even better than the ones I've had in Hong kong @midwestmunching
One beautiful thing about this place is consistency. The picture that I have included is from the Canal Street location, but if that wasn't mentioned you would have never known. You can't go wrong with any combination of their rice roll. Every time they'll come out hot, fresh and beautifully light. Every order is made on the spot. The only issue I have with this place is seating and traffic. It's the first place right at the entrance of a small single hallway mall in flushing. If the seats are full, you'll more than likely have to take an order to go.
I used to love this rice roll so much until I went there again yesterday. The beef rice roll taste so bad, because the beef are really in bad quality! And all stuffs are busy on their work, not even come to serve customers. I got really disappointed by it :
As a Cantonese person I’m very picky about rice rolls. Even within China if you leave the canton area you won’t get the same rice rolls. However this place nailed it and more!!! Loved the familiar texture and flavours. Apparently Anthony Bourdain came and loved it too see news paper clipping
First time I ate Rice roll and it was so good! Prepare to wait for 40 mins tho, but its definitely worth to try! Location: It is in Main street flushing, its like in a huge store with small stores inside. It is just by the entrance. Few seatings. I’d rather take it away. Service: no interaction. I just ordered and wait for almost 40-45 mins. It was busy. But there is only one person making the rice roll. They should put at least 3 persons doing it. Food: So they offer rice rolls. Its cool how they made it cause they kinda steam the liquid to make a sheet of the noodles. Then they sprinkle all the ingredients you want to add then roll the rice noodle. I ordered the 2 special its JOE’S SIGNATURE and SHRIMP PARTY, both of them taste the same, the only difference is the ingredients its different. The rice noodles was so soft and there is a lot of ingredients inside. Price rating: 6/10, it was not bad for the price. I will definitely come back here when I’m craving for rice rolls! Definitely get the specials!
