Johnny's Tavern

Wasn't too busy on a Sunday afternoon/evening. Good service and food. Had a slice and some salad. I like my pizza with more sauce, so it was a bit dry for my taste. Good views of TVs from all seats. Great place to watch a game. Get there early if KU is playing (basketball at least.....). It fills up fast.

Not bad. Nothing to get excited about. Had a burger, and sweet potato waffle fries. Friend ordered chicken fried steak. Large portion of steak, mashed potatoes, green beans. Not enough gravy. Ordered a house salad and arrived with the meal. Specifically asked that it was to be served before the meal. Mgr comped the salad and apologized. Good way to retain customers. Wait staff friendly enough. Atmosphere was nice. Great potential for sports bar. Many big screen TV with a variety of sports at lunchtime. I would go again but wouldn't go out of way.

I am not a sports nut but I could imagine this being a great place for those types. I came in for a pizza. It was great but you can either get a slice or an extra large pizza. It would be nice to have other size options.

Went on burger night, the food was terrible! You could tell the hamburger had been cooked early and kept warm in beef stock. The fries were not crispy actually limp when picked up. As well as for the second time in a row I asked for a Iced Tea with Lemon and none. When I asked for a lemon I was told sure and still no Lemon. The best part of my meal was the cottage cheese!!! I will not be going back to eat there!!!!!

My family and I come here often. Nice place to grab a burger. They have a good variety of burger, so I can usually fine something I'm craving. Either Tuesday or Thursday (can remember which day), they have a buy one, get one burger special. I have 6 people in my family, so it is nice to go in and buy 3 burgers and get 3 free. We've had several of the appetizers. I like the humus and the nachos. My kids like the pretzels (2 good sized pretzel which spicy mustard and beer cheese). My kids ordered a full size pizza the other day. It was a really big, new york style pizza. They order pepperoni and cheese, so it was VERY greasy. I had a piece. It was a good pizza, but just too greasy. I ordered the pork tenderloin. It was a big piece of meat. It was actually somewhat awkward to eat, it was so big (but I managed to scarf it down). Don't remember ever ordering dessert. All in all, it is a nice place to get something to eat. It is a typical sports bar, so game days are usually crowded.
