I have been seeing Dr Johnson for over 20 years. I have always been pleased with his knowledge, treatment and professionalism. When I call regarding an illness I can often see him the same day or the next day. I also have family members that see him and have been very satisfied with his performance.

Of the 4 primary I've had, Dr Johnson is BY FAR the worst, not only in care, but also compassion, and willingness to properly treat an ailment. I have a severely painful abdominal condition, and refuses to prescribe any pain meds, with the explanation that I need to experience the pain to know if treatment is working. Even with medication, I still can feel damn well enough pain to monitor my condition, at least I can get thru my day sufficiently while I suffer thru my diverticuliutis attack. I was made to feel like a drug seeking junky, when i don't even drink, or smoke weed. That bordered on torture, and the pain remained so severe, i wound up gong to the ER, which i should've just done in the first place. Along with his poor care, the office is unfriendly, and have to suffer thru multiple phone trees, and several holding queues. The last straw just now came when after holding thru 2 different phone queues, I explained to the operator my current condition and put me on hold AGAIN to put me thru to nurse. (If she had zero chance of understanding a medical condition, why did she even ask and waste precious time.) Apparently no nurses were available, so she came back on, and said just make an appointment. Then she went on to ask for my insurance info, which I explained that my employer switched to a new carrier who went paperless, and all they would have to do is give their name and SSN and it would be all set. (My dental was the same case, and had zero problems visiting my dentist.) She told me that I was wrong, and until I gave her the actually policy number, which is probably just my SSN, she refused to make an appointment. Now the real kicker, is that I never had insurance, and ALWAYS paid cash upfront, and held a zero balance, so why in the hell its my insurance more important than my health care? The experience left me feeling sub- human, and I've had enough!!! I wouldn't recommend this doctor or practice to my worst enemy. Dr Johnson is a condescending prick, and the office was just unreasonable to deal with.

I have the utmost respect for Doctor Johnson. He listens to you and respects your feelings about medication and does not overprescribe. He's conservative with medicine.
