Kaizen Sushi Bar & Grill

The sushi at Kaizen is always fresh and delicious! Be sure to check out their specialty roll of the day as it never fails to impress. They get pretty busy, so be sure to call ahead to see what the wait is like or if you can make a reservation. Also of note- great service and awesome drinks!

A quiet and quaint sushi dive that's easy to walk right by. The exterior is very very unassuming, but inside it's well furnished with some tasty food and a surprisingly large bar that seems to be well maintained. The views aren't bad either. The establishment is clearly an old home, so it has some nice picture windows overlooking a quiet stream but also has a large catering room for big groups. The ceilings are a bit low but the sushi is on point. Service was great and price was on party with any other sushi restaurant I've come across.

We were a bit disappointed with our last visit here. We ordered some sushi and a scorpion bowl. The scorpion bowl was way too sweet and the sushi was surprisingly underwhelming. One of the roles we ordered sounded good on the menu but was mostly filled with crunch flakes when we got it (I'm not 100% certain what to call the crunchy pieces that are sometimes used as a topping on sushi). I also felt that the menu did a poor job of distinguishing between items that had regular shrimp and tempura shrimp, which is important to me since I'm less fond of deep fried foods.

I stopped here when I had to stay overnight nearby. The food was delicious, staff friendly and was reasonably quiet. I ordered soft shell crab on spinach to start, got a scallop roll and trusted the waitresses recommendation on the third item (a roll with lobster, a soy wrap and roe). Everything was great! I would come back in a second - highly recommended!!

Even with it being very packed and busy when we visited, the service was quick, the staff was lovely and on top of everything, and the food and drink was absolutely delicious. Sure we'll be back soon! Great place.
