I've in the last two years lost the toes on my right foot. The first was my big toe, Dr. Cooper removed it. I went back to work after about 6 months later. I had another infection he came in and we got to take the rest. My heart sank, I was destroyed, so I said no. The next day the hospital said I was going to have to leave and be transported to VA hospital, two hours away. So by now Cooper is gone, and started vacation, so that is when I meet Dr Bumpus. She seen the distress in my eyes, and immediately she was more about getting me calmed. She was concerned about me than doing my surgery. She is Amazing!!! After the piggies had left she and the staff at Knoxville Foot care is the only people to treat me. They and myself have to deal with the struggles of the VA, and I'm so thankful that they do. That's my story in a nutshell, to me they are the best in the world for foot care.

Knoxville Footcare just asked me to rate them, so I am. They say they need my help, so I'm trying to be good and honest here. I mostly know about my experiences with Dr. Ivan Cooper. From what I've seen, all the staff is good to Dr. Cooper, so what he says goes. I think he's probably really good at what he does; I saw him as a child and as an adult, and he did some good things both times, and some not so good things, both times. The second time, as an adult, he admitted that he had learned to take more seriously the neglected complaints I made while seeing him in my childhood. In my adulthood, he proved very sexist. Luckily, feet don't let too much sexism interfere with scientific understanding, and sure enough, he seemed to know what he was doing. However, I'm the one in over one-thousand cases whose body mysteriously did not take to his surgery, and I've used up all of my resources trying to find alternative ways to get better from the birth deformities in my feet, but so far cannot. I've been stuck for years unable to walk very much and my physician won't take this seriously enough to try to help me walk well again. I've had to gain a lot of weight and get unhealthy in other ways waiting for doctors to take my inability to walk well seriously. See, it causes problems in other parts of my body because it's a structural problem that starts at my feet, and all the other bones have to shift because of it. And I'm sorry my body refused to accept the implants, but I don't know why my body did that and my family and community can't afford to deal with me having any more surgeries yet. I had 6, they didn't work, and Dr. Cooper seemed as mystified as I am. I like him as a person, but he's really sexist and some people are really not okay with that. I didn't like it, but I needed his services so had to put up with it. But I've met another lady who met him as a patient and I felt really sorry for her because of how unprofessional he was with her, and so I feel really guilty going to him, but he's supposed to be the best of the best in our area so I went to him as long as I could. He failed me, but it looks like he was open to learning how he failed me, and that's a really good thing I want to give him credit for. It's just that I used up all the resources I had trying to get healed and it didn't work and so now I'm stuck. Plus he is too really sexist, and that needs to stop. I'm giving him three stars because he seemed to try super hard in the ways that he knew, and he seemed to know something important. My lower back pain improved when he put the implants in; it's just that my body wouldn't accept the implants--treated them as an enemy even when switched from metal to plastic--and he doesn't know why and I would need better services to help him continue to work with me to find out why. And he's too sexist, and so patients like me need help helping him be the best he can be. I gave him a 3 out of 5 because he has so much potential.

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Bumpus has a great personality and she explains things in a way that is easy to understand. She was very straightforward about her plan for my treatment with her and exactly what I should expect upon leaving their facility. I would highly recommend to Knoxville Footcare!
