La Choza Restaurant

We heard this place was dog friendly so asked if we could sit out in the back patio with two dogs. They didn't balk a bit and we're eager to seat us. After a short and reasonable wait, we were escorted around the property out back, sat nestled in their patio with two dogs for whom they immediately brought water. The fish tacos were unexpectedly fantastic. Service was prompt and very kind. By all means make this a stop.

Great selection of drinks/margaritas. The food is fantastic and the portions are large so come hungry! This place is definitely a top spot in Santa Fe if you want delicious New Mexican food (different from Tex Mex so don't go away mad if the flavors aren't quite the same!). This place is also great if you enjoy spicy food! Both the red and green chile are wonderful but if you can't decide ask for Christmas!

I had a short stay in Santa Fe for business and wound up visiting La Choza twice! I ate at another notable establishment that came highly recommended, but it was nothing even close the the quality of La Choza! Service was great and the food was spectacular! Both the red and green chili were among the best I've had - and yes, they were both spicy! (The way it should be) Thank you La Choza for the finest meal I had in Santa Fe!

My favorite restaurant so far on my trip to Santa Fe. Green Chile stew was spicy and flavorful with a nice hint of smokiness. Potatoes and pork we're both perfectly done. I also had the blue corn burritos with beef and red sauce. Sauce was perfect with the ground beef filling with beans and hominy beside the smothered burritos.

I used to come here as a child and the flavors seem lacking as well as the great service I used to recieve. Our waitress was less then nice and would drop food and glasses on the table with an obvious frustration as she would slam it down and rush away without pausing to ask if we may need something. Then would be upset if we asked her for things like a side of beans or our check. The food was also lacking in flavor other then the naturally flavorful Chile, the chicken was bland, everything seemed soggy and the rice was an odd flavor. Sorry La Choza. But your waitress (S) was the bad taste in my mouth, more then anything. I know the kitchen can do better but my experience with her made everything taste bad. :(
