El Farol Restaurant

Many of us ordered from the hot and cold appetizers and found them delicious. My husband ordered the duck entree and didn't care for it. The meat was tender but it was drowned in a sauce that was okay but not great. It's an extremely busy place (Saturday night about 7:30) and noisy. The service was good. I would definitely recommend it and return myself. There are many lovely choices on the menu. It's one of the few places in town that we found that offers something besides spicy food. If you have an aversion to or medical condition that disallows spicy food, it's hard to find a place to dine in Santa Fe. El Farol is an oasis for fine dining with something for almost everyone.

We thought this place was excellent. Sat at the bar and socialized. Andrew the bartender provided great service and recommendations. Food was terrific. Will go again if in the area.

It isn't well known that El Farol is open for lunches now. Their lunches are great, such as the Aguacate BLT with optional and delicious gluten free bread, the pork tenderloin and the chicken were all excellent and great value. Prices in the $13 range. The renovations are terrific, while still keeping that circa 1835 historic charm and essential character. Highly recommended!!!

My first time at El Farol since the change over. Everything we had was very good. I had the quail, and enjoyed it very much. It is no longer the fun dive bar, and i hope they still have flamenco and dancing, but we were there too early for any music. Wait staff was almost *too* attentive. But still has the ambiance of the over-150-year place, with delicious small plates and entrees. Good beer and wine options. I will go back.

Delicious and special. The Flaminco show is worth it...what a delightful evening!
