Lake Mead Health and Rehabilitation Center

I am a medical driver and I deliver medicine to this spot, this is Probably the ABSOLUTELY Horrible rehabilitation place I’ve ever been to, the patients in this facility constantly screaming for help but the nurses will Choose to ignore them. At one time I heard one of the nurse said “let him scream, eventually he’ll stop screaming”. One patients said he did not wanna go to sleep and I heard one of the nurse saids “....HA you won’t go to sleep huh, I got all the sleeping pills you need”. Jesus this is how they treat ppls there??? This place need some brand new stuffing that ACTUALLY care for ppls and not treat them like animals, I would give 0 starts it requires me to give something.

My boyfriend has been at this facility for over 2 years and it's been a very unpleasant experience. I visit him frequently and the over all care seems to be poor at best. My boyfriends roommate requires special attention and the nurses do not care for him properly. During one of my visits I witnessed his roommate waiting over 9 hours to be changed. My boyfriend waits a minimum of 2 hours for his medication as a result of inept nurses who can't seem to get the times correct, or put them in the computer! He's gone entirely without some of his medication for more then 24 hours! The nurses and staff blame this on the pharmacy they use. Thats regardless. A patient should never have to wait for their prescribed medication, and especially under the care of a nursing facility! Patients are in nursing facilities/rehabilitation centers because they cannot care for themselves or they're in need of rehabilitation so they're better equipped to care for themselves outside the facility. Not only should they be treated with respect, they should provide care for them in a manner in which they could not provide for themselves. I would think that getting patients their prescribed medication at the appropriate time would be considered minimal care, and some aren't even receiving that!

The building is old, there is a smell that lingers around the patient rooms that is not pleasant. It could be in the air ducts due to the age of the building itself. That is the reason for 4 stars. My mom is happy with her care. She feels comfortable with her doctor. This puts my mind at ease. I would recommend as a rehabilitation short term not a nursing home.
