WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! We arrived to try and spend a nice Memorial Day weekend at the lake. We paid for a primitive tent campsite, drove up to it, went swimming, came back - and another family was there, setting up their stuff! The staff had double booked it. This was very upsetting to us, because we had already paid for it. And we went back to the staff and asked for our money back, and they refused. They actually laughed at us. I asked for a supervisor, and he came over and treated me like I had done something wrong. I even told him I was a Veteran with a National Parks Access pass... he didn't care. I said all we wanted was our money back for a campsite we paid for that we didn't get. They refused. They kept our money, and smirked about it the whole time. SO, THE SHORT VERSION IS: THEY STOLE OUR MONEY, DIDN'T GIVE US WHAT WE PAID FOR, LAUGHED AT US, MADE FUN OF US, AND THEN TREATED US LIKE CRIMINALS. AND ALL ON MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND, KNOWING WE WERE A MILITARY FAMILY. Don't go to this place unless you want to be treated like a dog. They hate veterans and military families.

After two days of driving to get to and to see the sights at Land Between the Lakes we stopped at the Planetarium. They were about to close so we were undecided about even going in. I told my husband, "Lets just go! It's taken us a decade to get to this area and we'll probably not be back again!" So we went in and some REALLY nice employee ladies told us about the place and I said, "It's probably too late for any shows in the planetarium isn't it?" She said, "Well, today we are having a special Pink Floyd laser light show at 7pm!" I jumped up and down and screamed! The lady made Keith some coffee while we waited for the show and I bought some souvenirs and it SO made up for the rain and wind we had all day! They said you could lay on the stage and watch the show and when we went in there was a lady laying up there so we did too and it was phenomenal and my back was SO happy to NOT be sitting after our long drive! I cried tears of joy during the show it was so beautiful! This show was the highlight of my trip!!!

Pleasant drive through. Not spectacular, just neat driving. Not much to see other than big rivers and average woods.

We loved our stay in Piney Campground. We have four daughters, 9 and under, and they had a blast. We are tent/cot campers, so were excited to stay in the Virginia Loop which is reserved just for tents (no rv's). We are backpackers at heart, but were spoiled by the showers and restrooms. Both were cleaned daily and probably the best I've seen. Our spot was literally right on the lake, as were many of the other campsites. We had a blast!
