Landmark's E Street Cinema

About

The official Facebook page of Landmark Theatres' E Street Cinema located in downtown Washington, DC.

Story

E Street Cinema is an eight-screen luxury movie theatre specializing in first-run independent and foreign language films, documentary features and classic revivals.

In addition to high quality programming, the theatre is committed to state-of-the art film presentation. It features large screens with excellent, clear sightlines, stadium seating in the larger houses, Dolby Digital sound, amenities including upscale concessions and an espresso bar, and 3 hours of reduced rate parking within the building’s garage (with validation), Monday through Friday after 5pm and anytime on weekends.

Designed by Brooks Graham, interior designer with the Graham Little Studio, and designer of many Landmark theatres including the Bethesda Row Cinema in Bethesda, MD, the E Street Cinema is an aesthetically unique and appealing destination for downtown film buffs.

The E Street Cinema is located in the Lincoln Square Building (555 11th Street, NW), with its entrance on E Street between 10th and 11th Street. Located one block from Metro Center Station and four blocks from the Gallery Place/Chinatown Station, it is the District’s most Metro-accessible movie theatre, within easy walking distance from all five Metro lines.

This cinema is unlike most others and there is a lot of good in that fact. It's a little dated but hard to find films will be available here. Also, your phone probably won't have a signal in the theater.
Plays a great variety of movies, not just the mainstream big pictures. Nice food and beverage options, including alcohol. Be aware, you will have NO cell reception once you descend the stairs, so coordinate with friends before leaving street level. Best accessed via public transit, unless you want to pay for private parking lots.
All staff were courteous & helpful, the refreshment stand far outclasses your typical.multiplex arrangement. The theaters offer excellent sound and first-rate projection, resulting in crisp images and an overall immersive experience. The seats are comfortable and the theaters are clean -- so choose this place for a quality moviegoing night.
New favorite movie theater. Nice people, good popcorn, clean, comfy seats, alcohol at the snack bar, and not crowded at all we were the only group in our theater today
They play limited release movies and serve beer, wine, and more gourmet-styled food than the chains do. That makes this place exceptional. Enter through the front doors and you're at a kiosk or using the human guest service employee to get your tickets. After that, you take stairs/elevator down into the dark basement where your cinematic experience begins. Bathrooms on the right, concessions on the left, and your theater awaits you straight ahead. Go there and have a blast!
I’ve been coming to this excellent theater regularly for the 7 years I’ve lived here, and I intend to continue such as today’s showing of The Good Boss, but you cannot charge more than $17 for a “large” so called—until recently, the “large” would have been a small/medium sized popcorn and a small soda. I understand costs for everyone have risen, but that’s quite exorbitant and will make me hesitate coming in person to the theater vs watch streaming at home.
Multiplex downtown, a few blocks from the arena. Broad selection of movies, many without spandex. Rocky Horror on weekends. Full service snack stand with wine bar. They were showing animated shorts during Grammy season. Some houses are small, so look here for movies at the end of their runs. Restaurants in area, too.
Nice arthouse type theater that has great drinks and a conformable atmosphere to hang out in downtown dc. Highly recommend
Great indie film theatre. Located mostly underground. Great concessions, cocktails and beer are available as well as movie theater staples. Theater was smaller and had great sound and crisp picture. Bathrooms were very clean.
Saw a double feature here on National Cinema Day. I love the variety of films and special events that this theater hosts. Great refreshments and helpful staff too!
