Maciel Alterations & Designs

I took my Hugo Boss suit to Cielo at Maciel Alterations in Sept 2014, to have the jacket sleeve buttons and pant hems fixed from a previous alteration that was not done correctly. She quoted me 2.5 hours @ $35/hr for the job, which I thought was very expensive for a relatively small alteration. But I was willing to pay it in order to have the suit perfect, as it is the nicest article of clothing I own, and has a great deal of sentimental value having worn it for my wedding. I'm quite picky about details, so I can appreciate if Cielo thought it was a difficult job. However, it took her over 4 months to complete the work, and it was not available for pickup when I needed it twice over that period of time. Furthermore, she never communicated to me at any point that it would cost more than we originally agreed upon. So I was extremely surprised when I finally picked it up and received a bill for $189. After arguing over the price, I ended up paying $150 cash on the spot. I was afraid that if I left without it then, I might not ever get it back. This has been one of the the worst consumer experiences of my life, and I would strongly warn anyone away from doing business here.
