MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub

The wait was long, but it was a Saturday night. So it was to be expected most places. The host was super friendly as was the Scott out waiter. He was great at helping answer questions about the menu, yet wasn't hovering over us. The food was amazing!! Their nachos were huge! Fish and chips were done just right and the wrap my date had was well prepared. An all around great experience! Most definitely a must try!

This restaurant was busy the night we went on a Saturday night. We were in town for a Augustana admissions event, so perhaps it was busy because of that. The wait was 40 minutes or so. Food was good, server was helpful. Portions were on the large side. Food was served hot for my entire party of three. Fish for my fish and chips were a bit over done or too crunchy. Sauce served with dish was good. No one had bad comments for the other orders in my party. The server dropped my card somewhere on her way to pay my bill. Another server found it and was able to figure out it was mine. Server took my card again to pay with no issues. It was busy, so it's probably an incidental occurrence. It is a noisy environment. I'm guessing they take reservations since I saw available tables for us as we were sitting down. There is not much room at all to wait at the entry. We spend 30 minutes roaming around downtown.

I enjoy going to MacKenzie River. It's good food. Definitely try the pizzas and the meatloaf. I've had mixed experiences with the wait staff but the food is always good. They have a nice variety of beer, some of them are local brews, and they have a nice variety of food as well. It's a relatively busy place on nights and weekends, especially during the warmer months. There is a beautiful patio to eat out on!

Very Clean and posh place to eat. It is not too fancy as it is a pizza place but don't let that stop you from ordering something different. Great choices of Salads and the burgers are great here as well. Also has a very nice bar. overall this is a fun place to go out to eat or just have a couple drinks while Downtown Sioux Falls.

Firstly i was super excited to see the no straw policy when will walked in the door, I took a photo immediately to show to everyone how wonderfully environmentally friendly McKenzie River are! So it was such a disappointment when our server came with straws in all our drinks and new straws in our refills. Please inform your servers of your wonderful policy change. So, we dine fairly regularly at McKenzie River cos we love the food and the ambience. Unfortunately the last two times we have been there have been very disappointing. On a Sunday our family went for dinner and it was not busy so we were seated right away. It was at least 10 minutes until someone came over to us. The server, who we've had previously was extremely polite and friendly. We ordered pizza, chicken wings and two kids meals. The restaurant did not fill up by any means during our stay but everyone seemed to be running around chasing their tails. We received our food one hour after we were initially seated and then it was cold. We were all starving and hadn't seen our server in a while so we just ate it. I understand he was extremely busy so i don't fully blame him but I did have to hunt him down for the cheque. Also I never received a side order of fries that I ordered. The previous visit to this was with a friend and our two kids. We were going to the theatre afterwards so had a time limit. It was the same thing, service was not good, it kids never got their sides and it was all a little disappointing. Honestly, I don't know if I will go back. Such a shame because I have never seen the straw policy anywhere else in Sioux Falls (once it's implemented correctly) and I would like to support that.
