Madawaska Lodge is a very nice place to stay if you want to explore Algonquin Park (40 minute drive). The owners are very kind and they serve good food. Try the rasberry crumble pie if it is available.

Huge amount of space in 2 bedroom apartment that was more like a cottage. In main building off small restaurant is recreation room with pool table and book selection. Stephan is a gracious host.

Best experience ever! It was during a down snowy season, so we got the whole place for ourselves. Then, after my friends and I washed up in the warm and clean washroom, we played cards, board games, and pools in the living room in front of the fire place. It was just like the scene we usually see in a Christmas movie!
The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was huge and tasty. And the price? Ridiculously underpriced!

The location is not bad little secluded. Rooms are good and cozy. The beds and all covers are new. The rooms are clean. The bathroom are shared, but very clean and of good size. The service is out of this world. The owner Stefan will make you feel like you are at home. The common area is what dreams are made off. Common area includes a pool table, fireplace, Satellite HDTV and full surround sound. The WiFi is free and serviceable considering the area. The breakfast is the best in the business something befitting of a 4.5 star hotel. You are given a menu and you choose a fresh cooked meal. The owner goes to extreme lengths to ensure you have a pleasurable stay. You will not be disappointed.
