One of my all time favorite desserts in the city is the Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding. It’s delicious and it brings back so many great memories from my first visit to NY. If you never been to this bakery before I recommend going to one of their other locations. My favorite is the 6th Avenue location the one next to Radio City and especially around Christmas time. I use the location at Penn Station to buy the pudding before traveling to NJ.
Quick for a sugar or caffeine pick me up before or after a long train trip. Cute, and colorful store in the dreadfully grey tunnels of Penn Station. There is usually a line, but I moved quick and it’s quite distracting to figure out which cupcake to get from the display case.
This is the only location I've been to since I'm a commuter. Their pumpkin ginger snap banana pudding is so good- recently I try to go out of my way to pick some up through my commute in Penn Station. From the tastiness of their treats to sevice it's definitely worth the stop. I sometimes get cupcakes/ pies for co- workers as well. Once they even specially decorated them for me upon my request. There have been times when I got out of the subway while I was walking to work with their bag in hand, people had actually stopped me to ask me where the bakery is located. If you're in the area I recommend it.
The service it's pretty fast and the cheesecakes are to die for!!! Full of flavor and so so smooth... This is a perfect treat for your trip.... Or to everything you wanna do.
Wow, I can't believe I've never been here before. I'm not sure that I should be writing a review on this place yet because I only tried one thing: the Banana Pudding. But it was AMAZING. Best Banana Pudding I've ever tasted. It was so creamy, it kind of tasted like cheesecake. So I definitely recommend that. Oh, and I tried the Salted Caramel version of it, but it was way too sweet. So just stick with the original Banana Pudding.
Nice and welcoming staff. Good cupcakes. Not so much choice around 6pm but probably go sooner. Better than going to the one in Manhattan with 1h waiting line. The red velvet is really really good
Not my first experience at Magnolia Bakery, but my first time at this location. First, it is not really easy to find it. I asked several person working in the station and they were not sure... So i took us some time to find it and then i was super disappointed it was only a small shop, no seating area. Well it's possible to take it to go and find a place to enjoy it.... The service was ridiculous. No one welcomed us, i was surprised because we were the only customers !! I asked the lady at the cash who seemed bored if she can help us, she said no ask the other girl. Ok the other employee seemed really focussed on the cakes but not on us.... I ordered their famous red velvet cupcakes 2 and a large tea, it cost me more than 9$US. Well once again I told myself it is gonna be worth it as they are so good and i wanted my friend from France to discover it. We sat down outside in the cold and i realized that the cupcakes were dry not tasty at all and the cream on the top only tasted butter..... WHAT ?!? what happended Magnolia?? Not coming back ever to your shop sorry.... My tip : If you come to Montreal and are looking for some nice, fresh and delicious cupcakes go to Les Glaceurs .... :
Best banana pudding around. And you really can't go wrong ordering anything here. Including the cookies, red velvet cupcakes, red velvet cheesecake, and apple crumb pie.
What can I say apart from the banana bread pudding is to die for. Extremely light and could eat for days!
For those who know Banoffee Pie, this one - Banana Pudding - is not as good. Anyway, it’s tasty, creamy and good. Eat it!
