Too bad there isn’t a zero star on this. This place is awful. Bed sores, patient falling and not being properly watched after fall...sounds like pure neglect to me. Unfortunately my grandma is the victim. There is no excuse for one to develop bed sores as long as they are being cared for probably. That’s text book, any nurse who went through training would know that. The nurses here are also rude and probably over worked. They have no desire to communicate with family. They say they are following protocol when they don’t want to disclose information. What about the protocol for preventing bed sores, oral care or post falls. ...what about treating my grandma and everyone else’s loved with care they deserve. My grandma was taken to ER with bed sores, UTI, and sores in her mouth. In past she had a fall...they say she fell out of her wheel chairs per her injuries it looked as if she was dropped. Even after this sh was found again in her wheel chair with no safety precautions in placed. Stay away from this place no matter what they promise you, you’re loved one will suffer. No need to deal with these people who clearly have no business being in this field.

This place is amazing. I came to ManorCare FairOaks from a different rehabilitation center and I am so glad I made that decision. Since I have came here everyone has been so helpful, the staff takes the time to come in and check on me. The staff accommodates me and my family to make us all happy. Staff is always smiling and very welcoming. The first night I arrived my husband did not have a chance to eat dinner and this building/staff gave my husband dinner so he could eat with me. When the staff says they are going to do something, they do it in a timely manner. My call bell is always answered in a timely manner. The nurses are amazing and the food is great. I receive my dinner on time, I have the choice of choosing what I want to eat and it always arrives hot. I would pray every night to have Angels come and help me and my prayers were answered the moment I came in to this building. I have so many Guardian Angels now and I feel safe here. My husband stayed with me for 5 days straight at the other facility because I did not feel safe. Now in this facility I feel safe and I know staff is well trained and educated to take care of me that my husband can now go home and rest. Thank goodness for this place. All staff is amazing

If it were possible to give a zero star rating I would. Before you send a loved one here, take a look at their 2.7 rating, which is pathetic. It's unfortunate that sometimes one's health insurance dictates where their care is given. I visited my grandmother yesterday and she had a terrible cough. The doctor came in herself and assured her because she was on antibiotics she was fine, listened to her lungs and said she was fine, and practically chastised her for wanting a cough suppressant so she could sleep, claiming she should be on as little medication as possible. As of today she was admitted to the emergency room and back to the hospital for pneumonia. Considering how weak she is and the trauma she went through, one would think this kind of condition would be monitored. I'll be calling tomorrow to find out why my grandmother's life was put in jeopardy. Do NOT send a loved one here.

Do not send your loved ones here! My grandmother was here and the nurses lied! Said my grandmother was responding well etc and when my aunts got there her bed pan was over flowing and her sheets were soaked! They (my aunts) had to call an ambulance to get her out of there and thank god we did they tried to overdose her! If we didn’t act when we did she would not be with us today! Horrible that manor care can treat someone’s loved ones the way they do! AWFUL! I will be reviewing this nonstop to make sure no one sends their loved ones to this DEATH TRAP! IF I COULD GIVE YOU ZERO STARS I WOULD ! HOW DARE YOU TREAT MY GRANDMOTHER THE WAY YOU DID SHAME ON YOU!

DO NOT SEND LOVED ONE. Read the reviews paying attention to the negative comments because they ALL APPLIED to my situation. I am writing a list of all the issues to submit to licensing in VA. Any requests or questions for your loved one will get you a "100 yard stare" and no real results.
To top it off my mother fell and I am CERTAIN how they said it happened was vague and inaccurate based on common sense and what I witnessed.
Main Issues:
Lack of cna help
Nurses dispensing INCORRECT drugs
100% uncooperative nurse to get in touch w/ DR for urgent issue (crystal is one exception)
FALL by my loved one because they were taken to bathroom and LEFT in bathroom extremely long time period, patient tried to get to bed alone
Falls heard by at least 3 many other patients in rooms during visits
Overworked and long time responses for any help
NO preemptive patient checks (especially needed for dementia)
NO note of fall risk (when patient was in there for ORIGINAL fall)
NO attention paid to DR instruction for patient physical needs
Save yourself and your loved one the pain and suffering.
If you care, chose another location. If you don't care, then you wouldn't be reading these reviews.
