ManorCare Health Services-Alexandria

My wife enjoyed great care under Richard's supervision. No transportation issues in our case. Excellent PT. The big negative is the phone system--her direct number didn't work a lot of the time. But I understand ManorCare is updating the system. The ultimate test is whether she would use ManorCare again. Definitely!

This place is not good for any human being. The transition from the hospital to this center was very poor. They left my husband outside the hospital and never showed up to transport him. I had to transport him in my person car. Upon arrival, the directors & supervisors were not organized. They didn't prepare for his arrival. The communication between the admission office and supervisors apparently didn't happen. One supervisor named (Abdul) lied to my husband and made him stay at this center for 4 days against his wishes, so they could bill his insurance company for money. The rooms were too close to the entrance door (the door is super loud, so the patients have to hear the open and closing of the doors 24hrs, which is very disturbing. The food was absolutely the worst. The bathrooms are nasty and smell like old strong urine all the time. Different staff members were hiding in the patient's rooms taking naps, not to be seen by a supervisor. Random patients can just walk into anyone room at any given time. One supervisor (Richard), was very patience, professional, understanding and helpful. Some of the regular staff (nurses & house cleaning staff) were nice. There is a lot more stuff that makes this place 0 stars, but Overall, do not send your loved ones to this raggedy place. The care here is not good.

Don't take your parents their because they don't take good care of them. My mom died in their care.. My mom had a UTI. SMH and bed sores
