This facility is absolutely the worse. DO NOT bring your loved ones here. Upon our arrival, after being transported by ambulance from the hospital, it took several hours before anyone came to greet us let alone welcome us. The coordinator was incredibly rude and many of the staff members on the floor were unfriendly and frequently made us feel that we were a burden. They were insensitive to the needs of my mother and were dismissive of my requests. One of my request was simply to have her looked into a little more frequently after returning from the hospital for a procedure. I was told, and I quote, “We don’t have time for that. She is not the only patient here.” I must add that the physical therapists were truly friendly and caring, however, I cannot say the same for the nursing staff caring for the patients on the floor. They were not very responsive when I pressed the call button and once someone arrived they appeared annoyed. They also began sedating (chemically restraining) her to control her dementia and walking up and down the halls. Please note that adding or increasing antipsychotic medications come with increased risk factors and side effects for the elderly. There’s more risk for falls, infection and cognitive worsening. My mother did fall in their care, developed 3 infections and became increasingly agitated. The doctor and staff there should have recognized this but they failed to diagnose and treat properly.
Because of my extreme displeasure with this facility, I started looking to bring her home with me. Unfortunately, before I was able to do so, my mother unexpectedly passed away as a result of their neglect and failure to appropriately care for her. Before admitting your loved ones to any facility, do some research. Many of the nursing home/rehab facility laws are set up to protect the medical facilities themselves more so than the patient. I have to believe that there are good nursing facilities out there but ManorCare in Arlington, Virginia, is not one of them. AVOID this facility at all cost!

This service is very good. It helped my mother out during her recovery, they were very accommodating and were incredibly kind to me seeing as I am young and inexperienced with hospitals. The overnight staff were extremely receptive which was a concern for my mother as she worried that there would not be help at night but they disproved that and were quite active 24/7. I had such a great experience from going here and my mother loved. I would recommend it to anyone.

The staff are genuinely nice and I am glad i didn't go based off the reviews because i would have missed out on an incredible service. These reviews do not match the awesome service you get from this place. They are very aware of everyone's different backgrounds and are incredibly inclusive to those with different diets (we are Jewish so they bring my aunt kosher meals). They also have a great entertainment wing were this nice Asian lady will come by and ask you questions and give you books and magazines and different entertainment. They also have great physical therapy staff who are patient and very caring. This place is a 5 stars for me and would recommend anyone to come.

My grandmother is currently in manor care and has been in manor care for a month or so now and I must say the staff are so incredibly polite and accommodating. Two nurses in particular, nurse Lucy and Nurse Mary, have been incredibly kind and generous towards my grandmother and anyone family member that stays with her. I don't understand were all these negative reviews are coming to be honest as my grandmothers stay has been nothing but lovely. We are due to leave this week and I plan to call the manager and tell them how wonderful my experience has been.

I stayed here after my hip replacement surgery a year ago. There are some very good things and some not so great things about this place. First the good -the P/T and O/T staff were all very kind and I enjoyed working with them. Sometimes they were late for my appointment but heck, I wasn't going anywhere. Some of the staff were stellar, the two that stand out are Divinia, who is a nurses aid and the wonderful woman who is the receptionist there (and for many years).
On the negative side, some of the nurses were very short with me, when I had just been there for a couple days. I was probably one of their younger patients and didn't feel I asked for too much during my stay there (several days). At one point I had used the call button and it took them more than three hours to see me - I needed to use the bathroom. Luckily I had a good bladder. I had one nurse give me a pill, as it didn't look familiar, I asked her what it was for - she says "gout". I don't have gout. So the next time a nurse came in, I questioned the medication and she was abrupt with me so I politely explained what had occurred before.
The facility is quite dated and although I was in the orthopedic wing, the toilet in my room was NOT ADA height. How is that even allowed? I had to use a commode in the room near my bed. I had a very ill roommate for a few days, and she had family members there from 9am - 10pm, so I would just head on down to the therapy room and use that correct ADA height toilet. Apparently you can only use the shower every other day, so half the floor on one day and the rest the other day (that's what I was told). It was my first shower after surgery and I needed assistance. The nurse left me in the room by myself and I could barely do anything for myself. I asked her why afterward, and she thought I wanted to shower solo. No, I needed help. After I finally left and went home, a few days later, I discovered a pressure (bed) sore that was on my lower back. This was my first ever surgery and I wasn't familiar with bed sores. I spent the next 2 1/2 months going to a plastic surgeon to debride the dead skin and have it heal. They never checked my back even though I was there for 10 days.
Also, during that time, the social worker was off for several days and then upon her return she took another position and therefore she wasn't available except for a short visit. And I know it's difficult work for the staff but if you can't do your job and treat people with respect, you should consider another line of work.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. No need to respond, I just finally got around to posting my review.
