The Marquis Apartments are very spacious that offer 3 and four bedroom apartments. You get more room for your money with a mixture of carpet and flooring throughout the apartment. All the apartments come with a balcony.
I applied for an apartment on 2/22/22. No one ever called me regarding my application. I tried calling them and went to their office 3 times. The door was locked the first 2 times. The third time they were open. I received my paperwork and was told that my holding fee would be returned to me in 30 days. The manager had a very nasty attitude and was rude. This is the end of March and I haven't received my holding fee. Terrible service.
9 Months later and I’m here having to follow up on my original review. Google wouldn’t allow me to write a completely new review nor add the updated review alongside the originalWord count limit. Update 3/29/22: Though the property has numerous cons, there are a couple of pros. The maintenance and cleaning staff here on property are nice and hospitable towards residents. As well as the new assistant property manager Miss Camika, she gives residents a sense that she cares at attempting to solve problems that we bring to the office. It’s sad to say that she’s the only person on the management team that presents herself in such a manner… Transitioning to the Cons. The property fails to notify or send out proper memos for repairs being conducted around the property that take extensive time periods and/or displace residents from day to day movements around the property. Keep in mind that a significant amount of tenants residing here are elderly. The elevator in building two has been in and out of operations since late January/early February of this year. We’ve yet to get a proper memo as far as a projected plan and timeframe for the repair. You’ll walk past the elevator one morning and there’s no sign posted. Walk by the same evening and there’s a sign posted “Elevator down until further notice”. This constant cycle of working and not working is unacceptable considering how long it’s been occurring. It also took over 10 months for my apartment to receive our referral credit. As expected, we were taken through several loopholes. Don’t bother referring anyone to the Marquis Apartments. A bigger issue. The gates have been out of order since Hurricane Ida hit… Hurricane Ida made landfall in New Orleans on August 29th, 2021 and here it is March 29th, 2022. That’s extremely UNACCEPTABLE, considering the fact that residents pay for a parking decal. If you’re not here by 7pm you won’t have a parking spot within the gate due in part to people without parking decals retaining spots. I’ve brought all of these issues to the attention of the management team prior to coming here. I find it odd that my gate key works for the gates parallel to my side and when brought to the management team’s attention on several occasions, they just dismiss the claims stating that “It’s due to Hurricane Ida”. Well it’s been over half of a year now. What’s the reason the gates have yet to be repaired? As anyone would believe that it’s been more than enough time for the gates to be properly and adequately repaired! The Marquis management team, led by Ms. Summers does not reflect an overall sense of caring about the safety, well-being and comfort of residents. Lastly, beware of calling the office as for you will receive a dismissive run around by such parties. That’s if they answer the phone because as of lately they don’t answer any calls. To this day, I’m still waiting on a series of work orders placed in December of 2021 to be fulfilled yet rent is constantly turned in on time. The office either shuts you down with the same quotes, “we’re short staffed” or “They’re getting around to it. IT DOES NOT TAKE THREE MONTHS TO COMPLETE A WORK ORDER REQUEST. Personally, I find it interesting how rent is expected to be paid in a timely manner each and every single month when in return the Property is barely meeting the basic demands and requests of tenants. This goes back to the dismissive atmosphere that I spoke about in my review from 9 months ago. This is a prime example of the dismissive atmosphere that engulfs the management team of this location. Not to mention the difficulties of reaching anyone at the corporate level. If you value protection and a state of well being, please look at other apartment complexes prior to this property. Once again,Choose wisely! ou value protection and a state of well being, please look at other apartment complexes prior to this property. Choose wisely!
The leasing manager Summer went above and beyond to make sure my transition into the Marquis Apartments went as smooth as possible. Also the property manager Seth is amazing he made sure he ordered a new washer and dryer for my apartment and cabinet for the bathroom. I'm very happy about my move into the Marquis Apartments. The maintenance staff James and Fred were very helpful with making sure my washer and dryer was put in and working properly along with the toilets, tub, and door being properly fixed.
The property manager SUMMER is extremely unprofessional, and rude. While trying to discuss the RODENT problem in my unit over the phone she laughed at me, continuously cut me off, and referred to me as "girl". Very bad customer service skills, and it's apparent they let anyone be a property manager these days. When I tried to be accommodated for their lack of urgency with handling the issue by asking to either move units or have my rent prorated, I was told that my lease could be terminated. Not helpful at all. I've been having this issue since late August/ early September and no one seems to be able to tell me how the RODENTS are even getting in, nor are they trying to fix it. SUMMER simply acts as if everyone in New Orleans has rodents, which is not the case. I stayed at Marrero Commons for a year and never had so much as a roach. They call themselves a luxury apartment but have RODENTS?? 0/10.
I would suggest moving somewhere else period. The staff are horrible. They put on a really good show when you are first moving in but afterwards all you get is attitude. You find yourself calling consistently for maintenance and we constantly got huge roaches in our apartment due to living next to the trash room. Clearly there was a hole or crack somewhere but this was entirely too much to deal with. Also now we are just finding out a balance was put on our credit that we were not made aware of upon moving out and basically told by the manager that its not their fault that we were told the wrong thing or rather because she wasn't there to hear the conversation there's nothing she can do about it. To add to this the elevator constantly breaks down so be prepared to walk up and down the stairs regardless if you have a disability. To add one more thing as well, the parking is horrible. We called many times about cars parking in spaces illegally that were assigned for disabled individuals and they did nothing about it. This apartment is ridiculously expensive and not worth the effort! It really deserves a very low rating.
I would give the Marquis Apartments 0 stars if I could. This apartment complex is Section 8 housing and treatment at its finest. From the urine, feces, and food in the stairwell to the inadequate and dishonest staff, DO NOT move here! I had a water leak in my bathroom coming from the pipes in the walls and maintenance never got back with me. I had to mop water from the bathroom floor EVERYDAY. Not to mention the sewer flies coming from the sinks no matter how much bleach I poured down the sink they still came. The grounds officer was never available for noise complaints. The staff from the Marquis Apartment gave me incorrect information regarding end of lease so I was swindled out of more money. Last but not least on my designated move out day they posted an eviction notice on my door as if I had not paid my rent mind you I had always paid my rent on time and was NEVER late. The apartments are way too overpriced for the cheap fixtures and inadequate services I wouldn't let a dog live here. see pictures below
BEWARE!!!! SCAMMERS AT THIS PLACE I did an application with Michelle on October 14, 2020 for Marquis Apartment and I had to give them two money orders. One for $35 that is non refundable, and the other for $100 which is refundable if you was not approve for the apartment. I was told that it would take about three weeks to get an answer from the corporate office. I traced the money order and it was cash on October 22, 2020 but still never received no answers from them or this office. I contacted Michelle on November 13, 2020 to let her know that my section 8 voucher had lapse and it to late to wait for the answer about the apartment. She told me that I was approved and the money order has been cashed. She said I had to wait for the check to be mail to me but I never receive any check and it has been almost an month waiting for this check. I spoke with another employee and she gave me the number to their repair hotline. Can I please have my money because it is not fair that you all take people money and they have never stay at the resident because they never knew they was approve in the first place. IF YOU WANT TO BE SCAM THEN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!!!
This is the worst apartment complex I have ever delt with in my life. Please do not sign a least or live hear. The management is rude and not respectful. One of the staff members told me I needed to grow up while I was handling a personal situation with a UPS driver that had nothing to do with the complex. The Marquis apartment are beautiful on the outside and are horrible on the inside . There are safer and more moderate looking complexs to live in the New Orleans metro area for the price you would pay at the Marquis. The Marquis is also Section-8 housing. You have been warned
I am a current resident at first I use to love my apartment. I've been here almost two years and im starting to dislike the place. Since covid has started the workers seem so lazy. Its taking extreme long for maintenance to come and fix things. They don't answer the phone when you call. God forbid you get a package sent here its like pull teeth to get that. I been put in a order since april is now July and its still not done. I've talked to manager's and regional manager still nothing. They quick to tell you something not a emergency like its not your apartment its mines and if its a problem to your tenants you should want to fix it. Because if its the 1st you will want your rent money one time. I won't tell another family member or friend to come here and apply.
