Our Greyhound bus service stopped here after one of the hippies on board threatened either a hostage situation or a grass-roots revolution if the driver didn't stop for his "medical condition", which ended up being he needed to use the restroom. The facilities were nice, and the Ranger inside was friendly.

I called the Ranger Station today at 4:15pm (15 minutes before they close) on a FRIDAY! and the woman who answered the phone was sooooo NICE! I had spent my vacation two weeks before on the McKenzie River, and had stopped in to get my passport stamped. . .and I purchased one pair of the offical solar eclipse glasses. I wish I had gotten more, because I gave mine away to a friend who has small kids. The Station had more available and this sweet, friendly person on the phone said she would be happy to mail me two more pairs, NO PROBLEM!! How nice of her!!! She took my payment over the phone, addressed an envelope and said she'd mail them right away. I was so surprised at how friendly and un-rushed she was :-D I LOVE this Ranger Station! It has a beautiful display of carved, wooden birds of Oregon, artifacts, maps, photos and staff of super nice people everytime I've visited there, which has been every summer since 2009. They deserve a BIG Hug for all that they do for visitors!!!!! Thank you! Joy D from Lake Oswego, Oregon
