Reviews
I was surprised at the bad reviews because I had great service at Medcare. Carrie Ayers was very knowledgeable (and funny!). She gave me very clear instructions on the equipment I ordered, plus she gave me extra tips on how to make a homemade ice pack and how to make extra cushions for crutches. Maybe the difference in my experience is that I went there in person, rather than ordering over the phone. I understand that not everyone can go there in person, but if you can I think you will be pleased with the service.

If you schedule an appointment your are good, the service is great, working one on one with a representative!
But it stops there if you try to do anything over the phone. The web listed direct phone number for the retail store is not good. You must call the corporate toll free number and be directed to the retail store you want. It takes multiple attempts to get an answer. Once you get thru to the store the staff has to put you on hold to ask about how to answer your question, and then you are directed to schedule an appointment, for something you have already had an appointment for. When I asked to have the client representative I worked with 3 days prior, call me I was told she is totally booked up.....REALLY too booked up to return a phone call to possibly resolve an issue that could be handled without taking up an appointment time. The phone extensions given for "Sleep Coaches" that are there to assist new sleep therapy patients are not valid. Hopefully the next 13 months of my equipment rental will not continue to go like this.

Gave them 1 star because I couldn't give them 0 stars. Been trying to get a new cpap through them for over a year. Even spoke with them while my UPMC rep was also on the line. They lost my original order, didn't call me back on many occasions, and are generally unpleasant to do business with.

I was one day shy of being 2 weeks early to request a portable oxygen concentrator. Oh my, I took a tongue lashing from Bree was told the only way I could receive one was to drive the 6 (round trip) hours to the other side of Pittsburgh from Erie. She told me because I have a battery operated one (they lost the first prescription) that I don't qualify and that I could travel with the big home concentrator (80lbs) She was absolutely the icing on the cake, it took 3 months to get my battery one, first I was told it takes time, then so and so is not in, then no record of it, nothing but excuses. So here I am, remain basically home bound because of this company. ..... I got on line did some research and bought, yes bought my own. Main clinic supply out of Minnesota they were wonderful $ 1500. Constance flow up to 5. Only 18lbs, no batteries. If I only would have known I could have done this a long time ago then turn the bill to insurance. Please please do your research before using medicare equipment.

Very hard company to do business with. Their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. They act as if you need them and can't go anywhere else to get your supplies. There is no putting the customer first. When you call you get a tongue lashing if the person on the other end does not like the terminology or if you try to correct the person you are speaking to.
If you can find somewhere else to get your supplies I would strongly suggest you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!
