Mesa 21

Went to the restaurant with five people. Awful service. We sat and waited for our meal while people who were seated well after us received their meal and paid their bill. Waitress offered no explanation or apologies for the long wait. Food was okay but this review of the food could be due to the long wait. When I first arrived I asked the gentleman who greeted us and took our reservation to tell our waitress that this was a special evening, our son's 21st birthday. Would like a dessert, cake brought to table. No acknowledgement. She couldn't of been bothered. A huge disappointment. This restaurant would be wise to hire a manager who ensures that customers are happy, food is served in a reasonable time and be aware of any special requests. Most likely will not be back.

I was not that impressed with the restaurant. The service was lousy. Aldo, they boast complementary valet parking but your standing in the middle of a busy street waiting for someone to come out. The valet worker had no special clothing that would identify who he worked for. For all I knew he could of been someone off the street. Later when leaving at darkness, we were all just standing on the sidewalk waiting for someone then someone walks out of the restaurant and says " oh uh sorry can I help you? !! So the service all around was not great. Waited forever to get our meals. Tables are so close together you can hear every word from the people next to you. It's the kind of place you might want to go on a Saturday afternoon and have a few beers and possibly a meal. It's definitely not a romantic or quiet place to enjoy a meal.

Today I went to have lunch with my husband, we had great expectations about this restaurant, as far as I remember this restaurant was in second place in the ranking of best restaurant in New England. We asked for water for me, and beer for my husband, beer came without a glass and I do not think it is appropriate to drink beer by the bottle in a restaurant which appears to have some level, at least the maid could have asked if he wanted a glass, we could not get attention of the maid to ask him for a glass as this was quite busy, my husband concluded having to take a glass from another table, then we ordered an entree and two steaks 21st signature, entrance took almost 30 minutes to arrive at the table, being that a couple right next to our table came and asked after us and their entrees came out well before ours, as if all this were not enough, our potatoes came burned, we approached the maid and she asked if we would want other potatoes, less crispy, I assure you that of crispy they had nothing, since besides being literally burned, they were soft, as if they had been fried in oil tired or dipped for long period of time, that is i being a dish of 20 dollars. Very, very disappointed, it is a restaurant with an excellent decoration and a pleasant, sad atmosphere that has had these negatives. We left quite disillusioned and unwilling to return.

Went there tonight. Ordered appetizers which never came. Lobster roll and fries arrived. Fries were cold. Fugured I could handle that so I started to eat lobster roll. Horrible flavor. Some overwhelming spice I couldn't place. Had to send it back. Tried a fish taco. Also cold. Although the lobster roll was taken off bill, no attempt was made to comp and the manager never came over. Will not go back for a good long time and will not recommend.

Great Food, Great Atmosphere and Friendly staff.. I can't really complain thus far... I did tell the waitress that it was our first time there, and she was able to accommodate with some preferences..
