Midway Nursing Home

This place although remodeled is still a dump, they don’t clean properly theres dust all over. The food is cold and nasty. Patients are not cleaned well as there is not enough staff for all patients given. The social work staff and administrators are a buch of liars who only care about the money not your loved ones. They are constantly losing paperwork if you are not there every day your loved ones will not get the adequate care needed. My mother has dementia alzheimers and was being overly medicated to the point that she could not walk she would fall and could barely speak. I called her doctor to see what testing they had performed thus far and he was rude and nasty and told me that was all part of her disease. I told him as a doctor your patient is walking in May and now its October and she bed ridden you don’t find that strange? To make a long story short I had her removed from all her meds and and my mother started walking again and talking so the cause of her being bedridden so soon was the cause of being overly medicated needless to say I had her doctor changed took her to see a neurologist and he reviewed her meds and also felt that she was being overly medicated. Trust your instincts if doesn’t feel right then chances are is not. This is a job within a job the hardest by far I wish I cod have mom home but she was leaving at all hours of the day and night. I trust no one so please stay on top of your loved ones care and do not trust midway staff as they lie to their convenience.

This is a continuation of my below review! First of all please do not let the above pictures deceive you, the rooms or facility look nothing like that! Those have definitely been staged. What they should do is take pictures of the garbage all over the outside of the facility! How dirty and disgusting the rooms are! The smell emanating from that place on Saturday was horrendous!!! In addition my fathers room was full of fruit flies everywhere! You ask me if they have gotten hospice in there yet to take care of him? Yea right! And let’s discuss the staff while yes some are nice others are not so and shouldn’t be near patients! A horrible incident occurred with one of the CNA’s Ramon, where he was rude & yelling at my sister all because she told him my father was wet. That prompted for me to file a formal complaint! Yes they called me right away with their apologies! But guess what that same CNA is still working there!!! So much for disciplinary actions! We have told the nurses and aides several times my father’s nails need to be trimmed! They have not bothered! The place looks & smells like a dump! Please try to avoid this place at all cost for your loved one. Unfortunately like I mentioned in my 1st review it’s the only place that had a bed for my dad!! 1st review (3 weeks ago) Unfortunately this is the only place that accepted my father quickly and so far the place is horrible!! They really do not pay attention to the patients. I'm very observant because I myself work in HC for about 17 years. I'm writing everything down and if need be I will get my lawyer involved. I don't play around and refuse for my father to endure any mistreatment or abuse!! I have media connection as well so they better watch their step over there!! Mind you my father has only been there for 3 days! Tomorrow morning I will be contacting the director as she painted a beautiful picture to my sister when she toured the facility. Honestly, when I spoke to her over the phone she didn't sound very pleasant at all. So don't know what her deal is? She pretty much sounded annoyed because I was asking a lot of important questions (go figure)! Things better change quickly or they will find themselves in legal trouble!!

The facility is a great place to be. It has invested lots of money for improvements and while it continues to upgrade, the level of service remains high.

This place is one of the worst places. My father is there and the way he is treated is deplorable. We have found him sleeping in his own excrement several times, took pictures of everything. Have video of the staff rushing in to clean him. I myself had to leave my kids standing in the hallway while my husband helped me clean him because he was covered in his own feces. I would never recommend this home.
