My mother was admitted here a little over a month ago after surgery. She can be a bit of a handful (only eats organic and is very particular about the type of mattress she can sleep on) but thankfully, after I raised my concerns to the social worker, they we're happy to make the necessary adjustments. My mother was very active in ballet in her youth and she raved about the physical therapists at the facility so much so that she joked that she was going to go back to dance class. Unfortunately she has been in and out of several nursing facilities over the past few years with both good and bad experiences. But I'm delighted to say that the staff here has tried very hard to make sure she is happy, which makes me happy. Thank you Upper East, especially the physical therapists for all of your hard work!

We were so looking forward to rehab as the next step before going home. However, after a 4 week stay in NY Presbyterian, my beloved Fred regressed the first week at UESRehabilitation and passed away at the end of the second week. I was very disappointed in the doctor (Klein) who never returned my calls but had one of his assistants call me. On the day Fred died, I had called him several times on his cell which he did not answer so I knew he was worse. Between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. I called the nurses' station about 5 or 6 times and no one ever answered the phone. Around 4 p.m. I called Dr. Klein's office and his assistant returned my call telling me what they had done for him during the day. And 20 mins. later a nurse called me to say "he passed away." Just that. No one ever called me again. Edwin, the night aide, was fabulous as were most of the nurses but they are short staffed. And, as a Center, they lack compassion.

Disgusting. Do not patronize this business. They’re only looking for money. They give their residents access to dirty animals like pigeons and encourage it. Also saw a person fall and the attendants didn’t know what to do and didn’t react for 5-6 minutes. Feel bad for the folks living here

I arrived at Upper East Side nursing on Feb. 18, to receive rehab treatment after my most recent surgery. I have to say that the place is immaculate, the housekeeping man was busy night and day making sure my floor was as clean as can be. I never waited more than a few minutes for a nurse to respond when i needed something and the staff working on the night shift couldn't be sweeter. Also I just want to say that the physical therapists deserve an award for their patience and hard work. It would be nice to have a little more variety when it comes to the food but compared to one of my past experiences at another facility, Upper East was a breath of fresh air! p.s. I would also like to say a huge thank you to the entire staff on the 12th floor for a surprise birthday concert (They actually came to my room with a keyboard and balloons to sing Happy Birthday)

I was here for 8 weeks with a broken hip and my time at the Upper East Side Rehabilitation and Nursing Center was wonderful. The staff is hard working are a bunch of good willed people with good intentions. They work as a team and make good things happen because they WANT to make it happen. The rehab is excellent and by far the best part of this establishment. My favorite activity is walking on Park Avenue and I'm so glad I'll be able to do that again. A special thank you to some of the rehab staff that helped me: Frank, Wellington, Silvio, Christina and Bessie - Marie K
