As a teenager, my first car broke down in front of Mike and Rosy's during their grand opening week back in 1977. I have been coming back ever since. OK, it's expensive, perhaps even painfully so, but you pay for the quality. The sandwiches are steamed and juicy. If you get drips off your elbows when you eat, you are getting the full experience! Yes, this makes the bread soggy. Who cares? They rock!
Service is loyal to New York Deli tradition; efficient, surprisingly fast, and not always friendly.
My sandwich is a Turkey on light rye with Muenster. Extra Mayo and steamed to death. Second choice would be a Roast Beef and Swiss on dark rye with mustard and mayo and steamed to death. Awesome!
Mike and Rosy's is a class act and far and away the best deli in the area. I really have only been to two delis that are better than Mike and Rosy's. They are Katz' in New York City and Shapiro's in Indianapolis. Springfield should be proud to have a deli that can even be compared to these two legends!

Springfield establishment. I can't believe it took me this long to eat here. The Rubens was delicious and the ham and cheese comes highly recommended. Excellent pickels, and the chicken tortilla soup was hearty, a little spicy and excellent on a cold day. A little pricey but you won't leave hungry.

Always delicious!!! Great sports related atmosphere. May cost a bit more than subway, but you sure can taste the difference!!!! Give it a try, near Wittenberg University.

it's okay...I always have to ask for them to steam it 3 or 4 times. Ugh....and the prices are just ridiculous .
