Let me just say that I have been a health care professional for 25 years. With that being said, there is a level of professionalism that is expected from nurse practitioners in the community. The way that these practitioners treat clients is ridiculous. It’s almost as if we as patients are an inconvenience to them. I usually go for things such as vaccines, TB tests. On one visit, the African American practitioner heavy set did not even come out of the closed door to acknowledge me until the after the time of my appt. I missed once screen on the check-in process. She says well we can’t take you now. No one else was in the clinic! I had to drive to Mandeville to get service. Now, today, I missed a form embedded in my email for my visit. The practitioners have printers in their office. The older Asian practitioner told me that she couldn’t not take me. She literally said to me, “you did not read” while looking at the email. “You have to go and print”. This could have been simply handled by printing off this email for the visit. I had to cancel this appointment and make another one—at another clinic of course. I am going to Metairie for care! Inexcusable the way this clinic goes out of their way to avoid caring for patients! No customer service just downright rude! It’s crazy how the care is a 360 degree difference between the other clinics like Metairie and Mandeville and this one in the city on Claiborne. If caring for patients who live in the city of New Orleans is not something you want to do, do US a favor and quit and transfer where you can provide a great patient experience and care! I do not post negative reviews often but the male nurse here was so condescending to me over my complaints of normal UTI symptoms I have been treated for here many times. He refused to test me and yelled at me and made me cry. When I started crying he just opened the door and pointed me out as if I was being too dramatic to speak to. Very unprofessional and will not be coming back again.
Will not use minute clinic again. Tried to complete Cdl physical. Was threatened repeatedly by nurse practitioner. With not signing my certificate. Three times she stated she didn’t like me. Three times she was going to not see me. She reminded me three times she’s a nice person. Don’t ask questions. Asking questions is not allowed. Only speak when spoken too. She knows more than both doctors they asked for input through. She signed off. I think she had multiple personalities? Dr Bennett is a fine well respected cardiologist. He is very educated, he is very good at his job. Spent years in medical school. He really deserves a lot of respect from everyone. Her attitude toward me, I can write off, she really didn’t want to talk to a “truck” driver. Someone she sees as lower class. But her attitude toward doctor Bennett, was very sad indeed. God bless.
I’m from out of town and was reluctant to visit this Minute Clinic because of the reviews. I could not have been happier with my visit. I made an appointment online, arrived early as requested to be able sign-in, and was seen earlier than my appointment time. I realize this is not always possible, but it should be noted the nurse practitioner was thorough and calmed my anxiety being so far away from home. She was thorough in her examine and answered all questions I had for her. This was a positive as an experience I could have had been sick over 1,000 miles from home. It should be noted the pharmacy was quick to have my meds filled.
I would not recommend this clinic. The NP was 'nice,' but didn't listen to me and diagnosed me incorrectly with something she clearly had in her own head without listening to me as the patient. She then prescribed the wrong treatment, and I left with $100 less in my pocket and not one bit better. If you're looking for a better walk-in clinic I would recommend going right down the street to In and Out Urgent Care instead. I had to go there 2 days later and spend more money out of pocket, but at least that time I was listened to and treated correctly and am already feeling better.
I was traveling from out of town and have always relied on Minute Clinics for emergency care. On New Year’s Day, I woke up sick and immediately went to this clinic. I put my name in the computer and proceeded to wait over 30 minutes, only for the nurse to come out and tell me she wouldn’t be able to see me today. I was extremely frustrated and miserable and disappointed in the customer service of this location. “You’ll have to go somewhere else *shrug.*”
Went here to get everything I needed for school because my doctor couldn't see me for ~3 weeks. The NP was very nice and helped me fill out my health forms / made sure I got every shot and exam I had to get without making me feel like I was taking up too much of their time. They also called my insurance before starting to see what would be covered and what wouldn't and made the costs clear to me.
I had to 4 hours to New Orleans.took longer than due to a accident in Baton Rouge. with that being said i came to bring my daughter to this clinic due to it stating they did vaccinations in thw weekend. due her schedule impossible to get someone to do this w/o a dr's appointment. seen in no time.sure we waited but was well worth then as soon as we were with the doctor our script was ready. i. am here for a day and it was a relief to get thia all done today. would highly recommend to out of town visitors. Great Staff.
Patients were in the treating room with the nurse practitioner for over an hour at a time. This is minute clinic stuff. I promise you none of it needs an hour. I was just trying to get a ppd test read for a new job at the hospital. Unbelievable, and I will never return.
This place sucks! I had an appointment for 10:01 am and didn’t get called back until 10:35 just to go to the back and be told I can’t be seen without paying 145$ upfront. For what waiting? I politely walk to the emergency room where I was seen about 15 mins after arriving. Don’t understand how the emergency room is quicker than a clinic when I was the only person waiting in the clinic
