Great store! My wife spent 4 hours on choosing area rugs here, finally she bought three rugs with fair price , happy wife, happy life

We have used Montauk Carpet for years. This time around we needed carpeting for stairs n upstairs hall. I chose a carpet and was given a price that seemed very high. We went back bc had questions. Salesman Joe was nice but was clueless. He seemed disinterested n not helpful. Other salesman Larry had a bad attitude all around. Took our business elsewhere n saved over $1000 for same product.

Our rug will not ship from the mill/distributor unless they have 10 orders. We are order #5 according to Jacque our salesperson. He has no idea how long it will take for them to get 5 more orders. “It could be a week, it could be months.” It’s not fair. The mill/distributor has our rug sitting there in stock. This is according to Joe, another salesperson I spoke to weeks ago. When I asked to speak with Vinny the manager, I was told he’s around somewhere and will need to call you back. This is a total lack of respect and customer service. They are obvious holding off to save money on their shipping costs, which I know they already charged me for. They are just milking their customers. Go to the “Floor Store” in Farmingdale where they honor your business .

Bought several rugs here. Good selection and pricing and the front end customer service is good. I'm giving a 1 star because of the back end customer service. I was asked to go around the back of the store to provide the pickup slip so that someone can get me the rugs I purchased. I handed the slip to the only worker in the area and he told me to "go find it myself" and to grab a person from the front of the store to help me. I ended up going back to the front to get my cashier to find my carpets. She was clearly disappointed as it seemed that this wasn't her responsibility, but it certainly wasn't mine either. Whoever works the backend for this store should be fired when I was there on 6/25/22 should be fired.

We were a little intimidated walking in because we weren’t looking to spend thousands but Nancy introduced herself, asked what we were looking for and guided us to make our selection as easy as possible at a very fair price. We got a text as soon as we got home from the installer and said he’d be here tomorrow to measure : very pleasant experience. Thank you Nancy

Larry was a true gentleman, patiently educated us regarding carpets and gave us a decent price. The installers were were prompt and did a great job attaching two different carpets and make it appear seamless. Would definitely recommend Larry to anyone looking out for great carpets at a good price.

I just had to take the time to write this about my amazing experience finding my new rug. I'd been searching for 5 years for the right carpet. The size of the showroom was incredible, the quality and selections were spot on and the saleswoman instrumental in helping me find exactly what I needed. I purchased the finest carpet I've ever owned. From start to finish I can't say enough about this establishment. I highly recommend.

I have never written a negative review before. We went to Montauk Carpet because we had purchased carpet from their store in the past and it lasted for many years. We went to the store and and had a wonderful salesperson, Nancy. I told her that I trusted her store and needed to keep the cost low to furnish a small bedroom. She helped us select a beautiful remnant for $499. The store set up measuring and installation quickly. The men were prompt and had a nice easy job as we gave them a nearly empty room to work with. They chipped not only the paint on the molding in the room, but the actual wood molding itself in two different places. When I pointed out the damage to the man who did the installation he denied causing it. We had just installed new molding and painted ourselves so there was no question he caused the damage. Ordinarily, I would let that go and not complain. Then he handed me the bill for $901.32 !!! Montauk had added fees that cost almost as much as the carpet. Despite all the fees, they didn't even dispose of my old carpet, but left it outside my house. When my child saw the new carpet he asked why the threshold between the new bedroom carpet and our hallway was jagged and uneven. When I purchased the $499 remnant I asked for a price for other carpet and was quoted a price of over $4,000.00. I went to two other highly recommended stores and was quoted similar carpet for about half the price. So beware: that $ 499 great price is double after fees and you might want to video the installation if you want damage they cause repaired.

We had purchased a carpet and found out that the delivery would take longer than we thought. We went back to the store to find another carpet, and found a remnant. They easily refunded the difference and scheduled installation on the date requested. The installers did a great job. They were neat and cleaned up afterwards
